Guest guest
Gladys- Is the patch on an area where your mom can get to it? The reason I ask is my dad had to wear a Nitro patch and I remember he would take it off, looking right at me and roll it between his fingers then fling it. So, I started getting creative and told the NH to put the patch on an area he couldn't see or get to. On the shoulder blades worked well. Lower back seemed to help as well. My two cents worth- Sandie Des Moines, IA dad, Merle, passed away from LBD 9-20-02, age 65 mum, Jo, (MIL) passed away from LBD 4-29-07, age 78 -- Exelon question We're having trouble getting Mom's patch to stay on securely. This may explain the recurring visits from her " friends " . Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how have you remedied it? Guest guest
Thanks, Sandie We always place it on her back. A couple times this week I helped her change clothes and saw that it was loose. The packaging says it even stays on in the shower, but I'm not seeing that happen. Gladys -- Exelon question We're having trouble getting Mom's patch to stay on securely. Guest guest
Gladys- You are so right about her recurring " friends " . It does sound like she isn t benefiting from the full strength of Exelon. I wonder if an extra piece of tape over the patch would work. Or maybe that would cause less release of the medicine. Just thinking out loud. Does it have to go on her back? Maybe on the arm, less sweat area? Upper arm or the forearm? My dad took Exelon, pill form, and had great results from it. The patch only came out recently so I don't have any experience with it. Hoping others jump in with their thoughts. Please keep us informed.
