Holly, please let us know what the doc suggests about bringing the feeling back. It's called Ileus, look in the files section of the group and download for your doc. Many reports of illeus have been reported. My doc pointed this side effect out to me when overlooking these adverse reactions. Ileus can happen from low potassium which PEG depletes, give gatorade, & bananas. He says this medication, "puts the bowel to sleep"..............not good considering it does harm if not deficated immediately!

Holly,

Could you elaborate on the effects of fresh lemon juice? How does lemon juice affect oxygen levels in the blood?

Thank You

Jack

Hi and everyoneI am new to the group. Maybe the reason lemonade (home made) works is because fresh lemon juice once it enters the body oxygenates the blood and toxins cannot survive in an oxygenated environment. Ginger is also awesome since it has a calming effort on the stomach lining. All the harsch chemicals the FDA pushes as "safe" are disstroying our bodies a little at a time. Greetings EveryoneMy 13 yaer old has been on Miralax for 8 years and now her rectum is non-functional. I have been doing some research and a friend sent me the Miralax yahoo group information for me to contact you folks. I took my daughter off Miralax Sunday. What a resurrection for my consciousness, (sorry for the pun) but I couldn't resist. Since my daughter has no parastalisis I was advised to give her adult doses of Senna at night and then give her a Fleets Enema in the morning to allow the poo to come out. I have done that for the last five

days but it is obvious that the body will not tollerate this harsh treatment much longer.I need to know if any of you have found a way to conteract the effects of the paralizing effect that Maralax has caused and what you did to bring parastalsis back to the GI track.I found a practitioner that has some ideas and will be seeing her soon. I would like to get as much info from you folks as possible so I can help as many kids as possible with alternatives to Miralax, which in my opinion is suicide on the installment plan only we were not aware we were killing our kids. I am part of the Motility/Hirschsprung's support group and after taking Miralax for years the end result is these kids have large sections of their intestines removed. Thank you for you time.
