Bless your pea pickin' heart, Miss Imogene!

I wish I could put you at my house while all this is going on, but I

know that is not possible.

Millie took a big emotional dip tonight. She wanted me out of her

house and was going to call the law if I didn't get out right now.

She thinks I am after her house, and that I am not earning my pay.

She is going through her " waking up all sweaty " again.

She had hallucinations tonight, something that has not happened very

much recently.

I didn't back down from her, was very firm, and she let me make up

her bed, and lay out a snack while she scolded at me all the time.

I was snippy with her, but the good news is, she won't remember, and

I vented a bit with her. I know I am short with her with the

revelation of her abuse of Jim as a child. it will take me a couple

of days to be okay. I will get out of the house as much as possible

if the weather permits.

So, from no puupy in the toilet, to hallucinations and accusations,

the day has not been one of the best.

Millie's best friend stoppped by today, and unexpectedly, a niece and

nephew came by at the same time. I had to go to Sam's Club to

restock, so Jim got to play host.

it is 57 tonight, and for us that is chilly.

Nighty-nite,

Carol

Imogene,

I have been trying to get back and answer all my email. I am sure the house is

adding to Don's confusion. It may settle down after the floor gets done. Which

I hope by now is well on its way.

Thinking of you and all you are going through right now. But the floor will be

worth it when you are done.

Lots of Hugs,

Donna R

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

Hi all,

Where have I been?

I told a friend that A broken hip can occur on it's own. It does not

need to be from a fall. Sometimes when a person falls off a curb

etc., they say the fall broke the hip, when in fact many times the

fall is due to weak bones that cracked causing the fall Don hasn't

broken a hip, but he has been quite unsteady lately. He stays bruised

because of flailing his arms at night.

My Don is getting so terribly confused that I have to be with him

24/7. We are in the process of getting tile installed in our house,

and are sleeping on the floor. I got rid of my king bed, and now Don

is sleeping on his mattress and I sleep on the springs with some foam

rubber. It is so hard to crawl out of bed three or four times a night

to go to the bath room, and be woke up by Don that many times too.

I've had very little sleep for several days. This has to be done

because I am sick all the time from severe allergies. The Doctor said

I had to get rid of the carpet.

I have already bought the tile, and a bunch of the kids came over

yesterday and moved us out except the essentials to live. Two

recliners, a small table between us. A small table with the small TV

on it. My computer is now on a roll around small computer cabinet

that I bought when I lived for 4 years in a trailer. It can be rolled

out from room to room very easily. So, we are camping in the house.

Some friends and another son will take out the carpet, and vinyl,

then the tile man will tile one half of the house, and when it cures

in 24 hours, we can move everything into the tiled section while he

tiles the second half of the house. We even have a small refrigerator

and a micro wave to move into the back rooms while the front is being

tiled. The Freezer is large enough to hold about 6 Healthy Choice

meals.

We'll have to sponge bathe for two days, but that's alright. Stupid

me, I put ten dresser drawers in the new shower, because the dresser

couldn't be lifted with them. Now, I don't have but one shower, and

can't use it while it is being tiled. We'll still have the toilet and

a sink in the other bath for two days.I've done a lot of camping in

my younger days, but I'm not young anymore.

So there you have what is going on here, except for Don. All of this

has left him scrambled. My daughter asked me to please keep him out

of the way. He stands in the way even when I asked him to move. He

said I'm out of the way, and stood right in the middle of the hall

while the kids were coming through with a piece of furniture. So, I

asked him to come into the next room and sit with me as I wasn't

feeling well, and he came very nicely. I kept him there the rest of

the afternoon.

I asked him to butter some biscuits to go with some soup my daughter

had brought over. He did, and had them on the griddle to warm, except

he used Mayonnaise. And Gobs of it at that. I caught what he had done

just in time. I scraped it all off and then buttered the biscuits.

I wasn't scooping poop, or scooping trash from the toilet ( I laughed

my silly head off, except at the time it wasn't funny Dear Carol) I

did clean soiled underwear, and do have to give him everything he

eats. He fights with the house key and I am glad. I knew a time would

come that he couldn't open the door. The problem is he hands me HIS

key and tells me to try the lock. It works every time.

Our car alarm went off last night and woke our neighbors at one, at

four and at six. They called and told me. We didn't hear it at all

because we were in the back bedroom. Things like that is just part of

the game of being swamped. I told Don and he said yeah, I heard the

machine or what ever that thing is that makes music. He pointed to

the place where the CD player used to be. That is the way he is

talking lately. He is very confused.

I love you all, and please forgive my typing. I am some tired.

Love a lot, because I need it, (smile)

Precious Donna,

Thank you dear. I haven't even had a chance to look at our mail for

days. Today, I looked, and right there you had sent me a letter. This

is my last chance to go back a few days to see what else is going on.

We saw Don's Geratric/Psychiatrist on Monday. He and two other

Doctors were in the room. We talked a long time. I had been sending

the Doctor long letters of what is going on around here, and with Don.

The Doctor said he was very concerned about everything going on here.

I told him how it is being worked out, but that it had made things

much worse for Don. So, the Doctor upped Don's Zoloft to 200mg. I can

already see a big difference. Don is at peace again.

When I went out with Don, I didn't know the Cedar pollen was high.

18,400 high. It made me very sick. I don't show it outwardly, but I

was one sick chicken. Later I learned what I had been in. Today the

pollen is still high at 750, but I am much better.

I was having a time with the makeshift bed I had made. Couldn't get

couldn't get comfortable, and had a time getting up. My daughter

brought over two twin air mattresses. I gave Don back his springs. We

can both get up easily now, and I slept nearly 12 hours.

The furniture is out, and Sunday another bunch of kids along with my

son (all men in their 40's) will take up this carpet. We will go to a

motel until it's gone, vacuumed, and the dust settles.

We have been told that we can camp in half the house while the other

half is being tiled. That remains to be seen. I have no idea what

type of adhesieve will be used and whether I can stand it or not. I'm

not about to stay in something that will make me sick.

I told the Doctor the reason for the tile, and all this upheaval, was

so that I can be healthier, and will be able to care for Don. The

Allergist told me that I was severly allergic to dust mites and to

get the carpet out of the house.

This is not the most pleasant situation, but I can think of much

worse. So, I look on the positive side that things will be fine very

shortly. And for now, we'll roll with the punches.

If I don't write for a few days I want all of you to know I miss you,

and love all of you very much. I have never seen so much love as on

this List, with no pettiness on the sidelines. It is positivily

wonderful!

We all care, we all share, and we all pull together with love. You

can't beat that.

Love a bushel and a peck with a hug around the neck, while I laugh my

silly head off.
