This is exactly what happened to my dd. 10 years ago we decided to put together a group and there are now 1000 members on it. I also contacted the FOIA (freedom of information act at the FDA about this) When I first submitted 10 years ago, I only received 6 people back, I resubmitted every six months over the next decade and now there are over 1000 people that contacted the FDA......... ......... ......... Please join the miralax group to see the files section. I have everything posted there. Miralax@yahoogroups .com I created this group in case anyone missed the other one. You'll find many parents there who've had the same reactions. I was very floored by your post b/c it's exactly what happened to my dd.......... .......Are you also having pain while urinating? I've go so much to tell you......... .......Also, you're not crazy, the hair thing, the shaking, can all be explained, I've researched this for 10 years. If you want to call me about this, let me know. Please join the group and read the files section with my posts and any of my old posts in the archieves, and let me know. That was a pretty hefty dose they put her on. I have info that shows this medication is only suppose to be given once a day. It pulls water from the bowel and can cause hyponatremia (loss of water/salt imbalance in the brain) I am livid what they've done to my child....... ......... ..... My Daughter is 10 & has had life long food sensitivity/ digestion trouble. A GI put her on miralaxfor constipation, also she was tested for celiac spruce as she sometimeshas very loose stool and hasnt been growing. I am not sure if she was on the autistic spectrum before, she had very mild sensory issues(i.e. bothered by loud noises, cant stand the feel of raw bananas, hates brushing hair)and I was seeking help for dyslexia. She made friends easily, and stayed out of trouble as much as you can expect any 9 yr old to. She was a happy child with irregular bowels and bad gas. In June the dr. gave 17 mg. miralax 6 times a day every 2hour with ex-lax in the AM for 2 days to clean her out, we made it through the first day and I stopped it, she couldnt stay hydrated pooping so much and complained of body aches and headache abdominal pain ,chapped bottom.I only gave 3 doses the day and will regret it therest of my life. within 2 weeks she was a different person we had to cancel her bday party she didnt want her friends to see her shakeing her head violently and uncontrolably a clicking noise she didnt know she was doing at first. her ped. was concerned about tourettes I took her to a phycologist who suggested asd ,we are waitng on a autism specialist( the list is long where I live) and in a few days are haveing a eeg done.I apolgise for going into such a long letter ,but I need to vent maybe ,the most difficult change my daughter has gone through is the violent fits she throws ,she has become self abusive and feels so bad about hersef when this happens. I feel like some of the specialist she has been to for this think im crazy when I ask about the miralax causeing this it was even suggested to me that my daughter has alwas been this way Im just in denial & looking for someone to blame My daughter was not always like this and Im not crazy, I just want what is best for her and no longer trust the medical idustry. If any one has gone through anything like this please respond and tell me Im not the only one. Thank You, Kendra
