This was my posting to the encopresis_kids forum and some very kind people

directed me to this forum. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly

appreciated and yes, I'm taking him off of miralax.

" My son is 7 and has never really been fully bm trained. It started out with

severe constipation but with Miralax I think we have that under control. He's

been on and off with the toilet but he hasn't used the toilet for a few months

now. He poops a couple of times a day and sometimes refused to acknowledge that

he has pooped and has a HUGE fit if you try to get him to clean up. He will sit

for up to 8 hours in it. My boy has always been the most easy going kid and now

he RAGES at least one to two times a day. He will rage if you try to talk about

the problem or any little thing. He is so irritable all the time now. He refuses

to try sitting on the potty and just about anything else I try. And he only does

this at home. He doesn't poop at school or anywhere in public and he has model

behavior everywhere else but home. We're seeing a counselor but it feels like

that is going no where but I probably need to give it more time. Also, I did the

Encopresis study (u can poop too)and he worked with me for a while but nothing

now. So my question is, " Do you think SS will work for him? He doesn't seem to

be constipated with regular Miralax use but he is extremely resistant to

anything relating to the toilet. " It really seems like a behavior issue and I

don't know if SS addresses that. $90 is a lot of money for us to put out right

now. It sucks that we're having huge financial issues, my son's issues and I

have a daughter with other issues. I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do.

And,yes, I may have some parenting issues but please don't criticize. I feel

crappy enough already and the counselor will be helping with that. So thoughts

about SS? "

Welcome, After being on this group for almost 10 years and have read every post, this is typical. The children do this at home b/c this is where they feel safe and all children's problems fall on the parents laps b/c that's what they're there for! LOL! We have Physician's to back up that it's affecting their brain. Our dd does the same thing but I can tell you that we have one child sitting in prison from what he did on PEG. Please see the files section and I'll post some info for you. The FDA IS indeed

investigating...............What your are seeing is a result of what we believe is the toxicity of PEG. Most parents on

here say once they took them off the meds, their child came back. The rage is extreme.........there is a list of symptoms that would choke a mule. We are in the middle of contacting dateline and re-petitioning the fda.
