Guest guest
I asked my Pharmacist what the proper dose was for a 30lb child because at the time they told me to give 17grams and upped the dose to 24. This is when we saw a severe reaction. According to his calculations, the proper dose should have been about 3 grams. Please have your pharmacist check everything. 1 of 1 Photo(s)

He was 1! They said yes, and I said but it is an adult dose. They said it was okay. I am so incredibly angry at myself that I gave it to my son for 4 years!!! It was awful and we thought he was screaming (and I mean screaming) because he was constipated. So, of course, we would give him more. They told me to up the dose as needed -That even if he was having normal BM, he could still be constipated. UGGGH!When are you submitting everything to the FDA?Joanna I asked my Pharmacist what the proper dose was for a 30lb child because at the time they told me to give 17grams and upped the dose to 24. Guest guest
Any med can be given as a pediatric dose.as long ass the child's weight is calculated. The best way to take any med especiaaly children is by how much they weigh. Guest guest
We make a point in our petition that peg 3350 is not approved by the fda for pediatric use, but that drs are prescribing it 'off-label' - sometimes prescribing by weight, sometimes using adult dosing. Prescribing by weight does not take into account the differences in childrens bodies besides size - immature organ development (especially the brain) and immune system development. Even FDA in its Drug Safety Oversight Board Meeting in 2009 admitted they do not know the effect on children. The latest Miralax label says to consult your dr for dosing for children, regardless that it is not FDA approved for children. Guest guest
I agree! My daughter was given 3 times the dose when she as unable to BM after 5 days. The only reason I gave it to her was because I trusted the drs who said that Miralax was completely safe. I can not forgive myself for this but I am so grateful for this group. Guest guest
And another good point..................if this much is causing ________, then a smaller dose is doing the same thing, only at a lower dose. Guest guest
Have you noticed that BPA is especially toxic in small doses? Things like that, endochrine disruptors, have one effect in large doses and another in small doese - either way it's toxic! And another good point..................if this much is causing ________, then a smaller dose is doing the same thing, only at a lower dose.
