Oxypowder is made from PEG. the back pain could be kidney stones, push fresh lemonade and lots of water, I would see if you could get an ultra-sound done to rule out stones. People who take PEG have a higher chance to be prone to kidney and galbladder stones (this is fact, not opinion) You mention the aroma? could you elaborate? I've heard so many times that after taking PEG the smell of the urine is similar to windex and just smells? Also, It seems that with anything, moderation is the way to go, in my opinion, the low oxalate diet, could just like anything, be too much, too quick. (especially if one is giving PEG while doing the diet?) Kirkman's Chewable probiotics works as a buffer for oxalate (love

them!)Magnesium (Kid Calm) works well, ex-lax, Shaklee herblax all natural laxative has lots of ingredients you mentioned, licorice root, alphalfa, etc. Push water to flush the kidney's, Fresh lemonade to break down the oxalates. (this was the ONLY thing that helped instantly from pain the feeling of having to pee but can't) They wanted to do the refulux test with us, only to find out they treat with antibioitcs, I said then why put the child through this horrific test???????) If it's truly a problem, it will happen again....................jeanie To: miralax Sent: Sun, April 15, 2012 7:26:58 AMSubject: Toddler back pain

My two year old is on miralax. Not steady though. Total maybe three months. I want him off so badly. He is a very sensitive kid and so far oxypowder and colosan and magnesium malate haven't been tolerated. He has reflux very sensitive to any acid. I've had him on probiotics, flax , enzymes with very little help. He has not been able to sleep since birth and it's killing me. He has complained of his penis hurting and when he wakes at night he says "back hurts" over and over. He also does a weird limp once in awhile and I know he has bone pain becausE he GRabs his arm and legs and says ow. He pees sooooo much. Saturates the bed. I don't know if it's reflux waking him or the burning pee so we are scheduled for ph probe to see what's going on. He squirms all night and can't get comfortable. It's Destroying me. Anyway any suggestions on what I should try? He is so sensitive to the forms of magnesium. I ordered mini minerals magnesium bc it is

supposed to be gentle but I don think it will help with constipation. Aloe juice we tried. Diet we tried. He is on a low oxalate diet bc I believe his back pain and urinary issues are related to oxalates but I can't honestly say its bc of miralax bc he had urinary issues as a baby too and horrible sleeping. I know miralax isn't helping the issue and I want him off. I notice when I stop miralax the nightwaking is horrible with his back being more of a problem and I think this is "oxalate dumping" So another question for you. A naturopathic nurse we are seeing mentioned a product called therazyme chge powder. It contains: psyllium, fig, fennel, pumpkin, flax, guar gum, rhubarb. It supposed to help constipation. Any thoughts? Interfere with low oxalate diet? What do you think of ingredients for toddler? Any othe suggestions besides magnesium? My 9 month old may have urinary reflux. She is not on miralax. My son has some urinary issues as well. He

has burning but urine comes out clean so I believe this is oxalates. I suspect he had untreated Utis as a baby bc i remember a foul smell and when I brought him in doctor would say if he doesn't have a fever or vomiting it's not a uti. I was brushed off so many times. With my daughter I was less scared of doctors and demanded catheter to test. First uti eh had fever and vomiting. Second I went based on smell alone and she had one with no other symptoms. I'm horrified for hi my son had untreated issues. I just hate the mothers intuition is ignored. I need help guys. Please!!!!By the way my son is gluten free and was casein free but no improvement so I introduced a little goats milk and now we are on low oxalate.

He got the kidney ultrasound. All clear. The smell I mean is the foul uti smell that I smelled with my daughter. With my son as well but bc he had no fever or vomiting They refused to catheterize bc They said with no other symptoms can't be a uti. My daughter had symptoms with her first uti. With her second just the foul smell. I feel like lemon might aggravate his reflux. Right now I want him to poop and get him off miralax. I'll look into ex lax. Is that safe? I think it has senna and I heard that's not good for children. I'd like to stay away from Hugh dose of magnesium bc it seems right now all forms irritate him. I bought mini minerals magnesium but that's more for absorption than for constipation. I think he needs magnesium and calcium but citrate and malate don't sit well with him. What do you think of the therazyme I mentioned? Are the ingredients safe. My son is very verbal and very smart so when he says it's his back I believe him. But ultrasound and urine culture clear which makes me suspect oxalates. However I believe even before miralax he had oxalate issues he was a baby in constant pain. Sent from my iPhone

Never heard of the enzyme? we did digestzyme v which produced 4x day and shaklee EZ-gest. Lemonade is not acidic, it's alkaline, we are finding that the PH in the children on here are high in acidity so the lemon juice helps. I get it, my dd was nauseous from the first dose of PEG and it's never went away, she eats tums oftenThey won't

find the oxalates, unless they look under a microscope. it wasn't a GI doc that found my dd's, it was my obgyn, smart man...........very smartTo: "miralax " <miralax >Sent: Sun, April 15, 2012 1:02:06 PMSubject: Re: Toddler back pain

I would love to use enzymes but my son squirms and is in discomfort every single time I give them and I'm talking even a dash. I tried Houstons, enzymedica, even looms enzymes. They all do the same. I tried gastro by enzymedica which barely has any protease. Still the same. I'm going to try lacto next by enzymedica. It's frustrating. Probiotics never made a substantial difference. I stopped them and ordered one from pharmax that is fos free. Maybe the fructose bothered him. I don't know. Are you saying your child went from severe constipation to 4 bowel movements with digestzyme. I so badly want that for my son. To be able to pass soft bowel movements with natural remedies only but I tried so much and he seems very sensitive to magnesium. Sent from my iPhone

, yes, it produced a bm 4x a day, amazing. The only problem we found was she got red cheeks but found out it was from other reasons but could have tripped the immune system somehow? Still awesome for someone really needing to go. (she was on an antibiotic also at the time)http://www.shop-orthomolecular.com/store/DigestzymeV.html From: Franzini

For the lower stages reflux, the new protocol is to treat with probiotics instead of antibiotics, although there are many children still on antibiotics, I'm sure. For my daughter, we were able to do ultrasound only, no catheter, as the initial test for reflux, so it wasn't invasive.

I had kidney pain the other day at the same time I had toe pain, so I knew there was an inflammation issue probably related to acidity. I took the tart cherry I sometimes use for joint pain and it helped both quickly.

Kirkman's Chewable probiotics works as a buffer for oxalate (love them!)

Magnesium (Kid Calm) works well, ex-lax,

Shaklee herblax all natural laxative has lots of ingredients you mentioned, licorice root, alphalfa, etc.

Any thoughts? Interfere with low oxalate diet? What do you think of ingredients for toddler? Any othe suggestions besides magnesium? My 9 month old may have urinary reflux. She is not on miralax. My son has some urinary issues as well. He has burning but urine comes out clean so I believe this is oxalates.

Morning,

I'm the momma who almost lost our 9 year old to an overdose prescription from the doctor last year...I thought we were free and clear after having his colon removed...but now my seven year old is constipated and they tried to put him on Miralax...well...I stopped them quickly in their tracks.

Any suggestions for an all natural clean out? Ex lax tends to cause stomache aches for my little guy...an Miralax is not even an option!

Any advide appreciated!

Oxypowder is made from PEG. the back pain could be kidney stones, push fresh lemonade and lots of water, I would see if you could get an ultra-sound done to rule out stones. People who take PEG have a higher chance to be prone to kidney and galbladder stones (this is fact, not opinion)

You mention the aroma? could you elaborate? I've heard so many times that after taking PEG the smell of the urine is similar to windex and just smells?

Also, It seems that with anything, moderation is the way to go, in my opinion, the low oxalate diet, could just like anything, be too much, too quick. (especially if one is giving PEG while doing the diet?)

Kirkman's Chewable probiotics works as a buffer for oxalate (love them!)

Magnesium (Kid Calm) works well, ex-lax,

Shaklee herblax all natural laxative has lots of ingredients you mentioned, licorice root, alphalfa, etc.

Push water to flush the kidney's, Fresh lemonade to break down the oxalates. (this was the ONLY thing that helped instantly from pain the feeling of having to pee but can't) They wanted to do the refulux test with us, only to find out they treat with antibioitcs, I said then why put the child through this horrific test???????) If it's truly a problem, it will happen again....................

He has complained of his penis hurting and when he wakes at night he says " back hurts " over and over. I ordered mini minerals magnesium bc it is supposed to be gentle but I don think it will help with constipation. I notice when I stop miralax the nightwaking is horrible with his back being more of a problem and I think this is " oxalate dumping " So another question for you. Carol,

My daughter has been on klAire labs peobiotics since birth. She got a uti. Ten

they did the ultrasound to rule out issues. Everything was clear. Looked great.

Then a week later another uti so they want to do the vcug. I'll let you know the

results but the doctor suspects reflux even though her ultrasound was clear. So

it helps in diagnosis but the ultrasound is not failsafe

She didn't have any discomfort with them? My son can't tolerate them at all. No

matter the brand. Even a pinch makes him squirm and arch. Is that possible? Even

low protease?

I take capsules by Solaray - they're not organic, so I may do more research. My aunt who is 75 took them for joint pain and it ended completely. My brother took for gout and it ended too. There are juice concentrates, but they're expensive. Carol

You mean skip the test and have her on daily preventative antibiotics? The thing

is she had two in one month. So it may be severe reflux. If she gets another one

and I don't detect it (bc last time I went solely based on a weird smell) then

she could get kidney damage. I don't know it's a tough one. What If he gets a

third one should I get the test done then? And how would I know the extent of

her kidney reflux or if it's a problem to begin with. It's all so tough

Only the vcug would show me what stage so I have to do it. Kidney ultrasound was

normal so I take that to mean they are. I hope she doesn't have it. My kids'

guts are so messed up antibiotics long term would be so detrimental to her. She

has had two courses already. She struggles with constipation but when on

antibiotics it's horrible.

urinary issues but it was normal. My daughter had the back to back Utis and her
