Guest guest
Welcome...............sorry to hear your story, it appalls me to think that the manufacturer states not to give more than a week and we end up with stories like these as a result................There is a symptom called ileus reported many times to the FDA that my Physician pointed out to me and it's a paralytic condition of the bowels, if you look it up, chemicals can cause. I have a feeling these poor children couldn't go if they wanted to as many of us believe that it deadened the nerves as the material safety data sheet states it burns the skin, do not ingest, combustable in the making, wear protective gear. These are all in the files section of the group which you can locate by going to the bottom of your e-mail and click on visit your group. The knees hurting screams oxalates which we're studying the similarities with Ethylene glycol as PEG is a string of EG molecules. (sad but true)We have found that fresh lemonade helps with this as it breaks down oxalate. Oxalate can cause the joint and bone pain. Below is the article about Animal studies from rats that they gave EG to...............many parents on here complain of uti's that don't register as true uti's, upon giving the lemonade, they find relief within minutesPush lots of water to flush the system.................Thanks for sharingJeanie, we also put together a data base of what worked for and there's more in the files section of the group AbstractBackgroundThe use of herbal medicines (medicinal plants or phytotherapy) has recently gained popularity in Europe and the United States. Nevertheless the exact mechanism of the preventive effects of these products is still far to be clearly established, being its knowledge necessary to successfully apply these therapies to avoid stone formation.MethodsThe effect of oral lemon juice administration on calcium oxalate urolithiasis was studied in male Wistar rats. Rats were rendered nephrolithic by providing drinking water containing 0.75% ethylene glycol [v/v] (EG) and 2% ammonium chloride [w/v] (AC) for 10 days. In addition to EG/AC treatment, three groups of rats were also gavage-administered solutions containing 100%, 75% or 50% lemon juice [v/v] (6 ìl solution/g body weight). Positive control rats were treated with EG/AC but not lemon juice. Negative control rats were provided with normal drinking water, and were administered normal water by gavage. Each group contained 6 rats. After 10 days, serum samples were collected for analysis, the left kidney was removed and assessed for calcium levels using flame spectroscopy, and the right kidney was sectioned for histopathological analysis using light microscopy.ResultsAnalysis showed that the rats treated with EG/AC alone had higher amounts of calcium in the kidneys compared to negative control rats. This EG/AC-induced increase in kidney calcium levels was inhibited by the administration of lemon juice. Histology showed that rats treated with EG/AC alone had large deposits of calcium oxalate crystals in all parts of the kidney, and that such deposits were not present in rats also treated with either 100% or 75% lemon juice.ConclusionThese data suggest that lemon juice has a protective activity against urolithiasis. Background To: miralax Sent: Sat, April 14, 2012 6:47:32 PMSubject: New to the group would like some advice Hi I just found this group not too long ago and am so glad i did I have two boys almost 9 and the other almost 6 both have been on mirilax for years the oldest has been on it almost his whole life both have had constipation issues since birth and the oldest acctually had to have a manual disempactment dec 2010 he had a feces the size of a football inside of him. Guest guest
Hello,One suggestion that might help: put the fish oil tablets in the freezer. Also, my granddaughter is on probiotics daily and eats bran every morning with 2-3 prunes. She no longer eats cheese, cottage cheese or yogurt. The anger is definitely a side-effect of the Miralax. She has not thrown a single object since a week after taking her off Miralax. Before that, she was throwing things every day and acting out in a rage that was inexplicable (she's only four.)KaySubject: New to the group would like some adviceTo: miralax Date: Saturday, April 14, 2012, 6:47 PM Hi I just found this group not too long ago and am so glad i did I have two boys almost 9 and the other almost 6 both have been on mirilax for years the oldest has been on it almost his whole life both have had constipation issues since birth and the oldest acctually had to have a manual disempactment dec 2010 he had a feces the size of a football inside of him.
