Guest guest
Thanks, for the info. I have a Sears front loader. I had heard about this before and contacted Sears about it. They said my model is fine. I've had it for yrs. and never had a problem but I'll certainly will keep an eye on it. I also have it serviced every spring. Sue A proposed class action [law suit] has been filed against LG Electronics USA Inc. alleging the company failed to tell consumers that its front-loading washing machines develop mold and mildew. ............................................................................... .............................................. Guest guest
Oh wow Joe! I have been meaning to post about my washing machine! I had a repair man to come and fix my pump on my washing maching not to long ago. When he opened it up, I could see black in the tub at the top! I asked him what in the heck was it. He said they all get " that " and it did not get on the laundry! I asked how could I get it out and remove it as it was inside that tub part that holds the main tub. He said it could not be removed but it was OK. After he left, I poured a gallon of ammonia in and detergent and let it wash and then poured a gallon of vinegar in and let it wash, all in hot water. My husband has very greasy clothes so I am hoping it was just grease but this concerns me much. What in the world could it be..do you all think it could be mold???? If the repair main is right about they all get " this " then we all have mold or black stuff in our washing machines! Because one can't get to this matter, I have no idea what it is. --- Joe Salowitz <josephsalowitz@...> wrote: > A proposed class action [law suit] has been filed > against LG Electronics USA Inc. alleging the company > failed to tell consumers that its front-loading > washing machines develop mold and mildew. > > .................................................................................\ ............................................ > > To read the story, click on the below link, and in > the upper left corner of the web page that opens up > you will see a field that says " search news " . Guest guest
I'm not familiar with the LG machines other than the very impressive and humorous advertising I recently saw on the big screen in Times Square. I had a top loader get smelly years ago. I found detergent, grease, hair, lint and whatever else is in dirty laundry collected between the agitator tub and the container tub around it, especially near the ends of the agitator shaft. There is a simple prevention to most mold and BACTERIA growth problems (although LG may be different): Leave the washing machine lid open after using so everything dries out faster than mold and BACTERIA can grow. If drying doesn't prevent it (after 15 years for my old machine) it will at least dramatically delay problems. Carl Grimes Healthy Habitats LLC ---- > > Thanks, for the info.
