Guest guest
> I'd swear that the person who wrote > this lived in Shepherd, Texas I can smell that town from here, Tootie, and I am at least 6000 miles away. I spent a few months working in downtown Newark, NJ and thought that was small-town America before I got sent to Missouri. What a pity that Hollywood doesn't show that kind of life any more. Most of the world thinks that life in the USA is all getting shot at and cars blowing up. You might find it hard to believe but we get Harvey over here, too. I didn't realize that it was a country thing. And we have a new Wal-Mart (hasn't opened yet) just down the road. The world is smaller than you think. Guest guest
Gee Sam, how many of these nudie bars did you visit? BTW... they're all gone now. Pasadena has done a revitalization to the older nudie bar area and now it's a fancy shopping district for wealthy young'uns from JPL. Complete with Starbucks and and Noble... <G> in Pasadena Re: Re: OT I think they wrote this about Small-Town Texas.....in fact that's where I live! > , who were you traveling for? Guest guest
, I realize Pasadena cleaned up. as I recall there was a steak house on Lincoln, off Colorado. My wife and I stayed on Colorado while doing tourist things there, no bars then. There was a little breakfast place that opened early down the street, and she liked her meal early. I stayed there when I was at JPL, 6 weeks or so. They treated me pretty well as a steady customer. Sam
Guest guest
I'll have to go check if that steak house is still there. Always ready for a big juicy one!
