Guest guest
My neurologist was out of town when I was diagnosed and so his partner told me about my diagnosis. He told me to call my doc to discuss it with him also when he was back in town. I did. Once I got on the phone with him he seemed very annoyed and bothered by my call-even though I was told to call and talk to him. I asked him a few questions and he was very short with me and acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I asked him since I was a triathlete, I wanted to know what " light weight exercise " meant because that was a big deal to me since I exercise hard everyday. He said to me twice, " Well, , it's only common sense. " and treated me like I was stupid. He then kept saying, " I don't understand what you're trying to get at here-if you're asking me if you should have surgery, there is no way for me to know until you have it, if the symptoms are interupting your life, then yea...it's pretty obvious you should have it. " Then the final straw was I was telling him that I will be seeing a neurosurgeon-a few out of state ones but it'll be a while and I wanted some clarification on a few things...he said, " Well, ...it's not like you're going to die. " I was really hurt, I was at work when he called and I started tearing up and I just said, " Thank you for calling me, goodbye " I just wanted some answers-I hadn't talked to him since I'd been diagnosed and HIS OFFICE was the ones that told me to call. Good thing I don't have to see him anymore.
