Guest guest
Dear Kishor, What an excellent review of situation! But Ghulam will never be azad ! " " Yes, health Minister, what is your problem? " " All doctors from India are going to the US and staying there. No one wants to come back to India. Tell me what I can do to make them stay back. " " But why are they going there, my son? " " It's probably because there is too much reservation in the system. " " Then remove the reservation. " " I am the health minister. I cannot remove reservation. They are probably also going because there are no R & D facilities or even good paying jobs here. " " Then make the facilities and pay them good money. " " I cannot do that. India is a poor country. " " But I keep hearing of scams worth lakhs of crores of rupees! " " Yeah, that is why India is poor. " " But one Mr. Ahluwalia had suggested that all corporates be allowed to open their own Medical colleges, so that this artificial scarcity of doctors will be permanently dealt with. " " I cannot do anything there, because all the present Medical colleges are owned by powerful people and they will never allow their monopolies (and donations) to disappear. " " Then as a health Minister what can you do? " " I can stop issuing NOC, so that doctors cannot work in the US. " " But are not many ministers' children also studying in the US? " " Yes! But fortunately, very few of them are becoming doctors. And the few who become doctors can always become health ministers. " " Good! This reminds me of a story. Once, Mullah Naseeruddin lost his key on the road. As he was searching under a street light, a passerby asked him if he had lost his key there. Mullah Naseeruddin said, 'No. I lost it further down the road. But as there is a streetlight here, I am searching for it here.' Thus, you know that the key is elsewhere, but as you have a street light, you want to search for it here. Please go ahead. Guest guest
Thanks Vijai, Ravin, Dr Ramji, Parag and Ashok, Mullah sahib is just an imaginary religious figure who our present health minister Ghulam Nabi Aazad will probably confer with re complicated problems. All politicians are known to consult religious heads, numerologists, Vaastu experts, and other trash when confronted with important problems. Aazad being a Muslim would probably rush to a Maulavi or Mullah. Guest guest
All these years I used to think " people with their votes can change the future of our country " and I really, sincerely used to feel that way. But over the years I have realized you just chose between the proverbial devil and the deep sea. We are in too deep a rut to get out of it. Does that mean I shouldn't vote? I should, because then I have the satisfaction that I voted and its wasn't a proxy vote... that's about it. Ravin '82 > > Good one. Indecisiveness is the mool-Mantra today.
