Guest guest
I'm new and have a question. I'm not sure exactly how to get the process started for a TR. Should I deal directly with Dr. Levin? When I went for my yearly GYN visit a month ago I mentioned to my Gyno doctor that I was considering looking into having a TR. She discouraged me saying I was over 35 (I'm 37) they aren't successful etc. etc. She said if I was serious about this to schedule an consultation appointment with her and they'd look over my records and she'd let me know if I'd be a considered candidate for the surgery. Do you think I should meet with her first? What if she says I shouldn't have the surgery? I don't know what to do. Any insight would be really appreciated, thanks. Guest guest
Hi Marisa, I would call Dr. Levin and let him look at your records. I am 32 and just had my surgery with him. He is very honest and straight forward. Kathy Re: Digest Number 409 I'm new and have a question. I'm not sure exactly how to get the process started for a TR. Should I deal directly with Dr. Levin? Guest guest
Marisa you can have a consultation with Dr Levin for just 50 dollars. If you live close enough you can meet him in person(like I did) or either have a phone consult. It would give you a chance to see if he is 6the doc for you. I think you'll be impressed by him. During the consult he is very honest and can tell you just where you stand concerning your TR. I felt so encouraged after my consult. Guest guest
Marisa, I think you should definetly talk to Dr. Levin or any other fertility Dr. about this. 37 is not too old for this. Actually 37 is probably younger than the majority of tr patients. I was 36 when I had my tr. You should try to get a copy of your medical records from the Dr. who did you TL and take these to Dr. Levin or whom ever you choose to do your surgery. But if this is something you seriously want to do then you need to find yourself a different ob-gyn, one who will offer you support and encouragement, this is something you can do, don't let anyone tell you different. Good Luck! Let me know if I can help in any way. Maangel1910@...
Guest guest
You can possibly get out of paying the $50 for your consult with the Dr. if it's time for your yrly pap-smear you can get Dr. Levin to do that for you, bill your insurance for that and get your consult too. That's what I did.
Guest guest
, Great idea...that's what I'm doing too on Nov. 20th. But Dr. Levin is a bit far for me for a pap smear so I'm having a local RE do it and possibly an x-ray to see how much tube I have left. I think my insurance will pay for all that, then I can get those results to Dr. Levin and have him do my surgery early next year I hope. Guest guest
, well I hope you get a good report on your tube lengths and a normal pap. I had actual pictures of my tubes, what they looked like, their condition, because of surgery done the year before, my ob-gyn suspected I had endometriosis and did the surgery, I had told her I wanted to have a tr and so she took the pictures for me while I was having surgery, it turned out good, I did not have endometriosis after all, and Dr. Levin was happy to have the photos to know what he had to work with. I don't remember what my tube lengths were, but I know he was happy with them. I need to ask again what my lengths were, I am curious now after looking at everyone elses numbers. I hate to be a pest though, so I guess I'll wait until the next visit! You said you were going to have your tr early next yr, do you know what month yet? What town do you live in? I'll be thinking about you! Love,
