Guest guest
Sorry I don't have any documented information. But an interesting tidbit that might give you a place to start. Last year I was on a terrible swing shift which I chose of my own free will during shift bids so I am not really complaining. But this swing shift had a double back 2nd shift to days, which was a real killer. 2 days, 2 seconds, 1 midnight. I seen my doctor because we were having a hard time with conception. He told me he thought it was possibly the shift I was working. The lack of sleep could result in hormonal imbalances resulting in infertility. I am sure there are other effects on peoples health when they work these shifts but I never looked any further into it. When I quit and went to OSP I went to a day shift for a short time then to seconds both " normal " shifts. The same month I quit and got off of that shift I was pregnant. No more proof needed for me that it was the shift I was working causing infertility and hormonal imbalances. Maybe talk to a doctor and see if they have any documentation on the effects of rotating shifts on employees health. Now I will be going back to Union County and have a swing shift again but this one isn't so bad, no double back. I think it was the double back that really killed me.
