Oh! That is shocking. Bor Dam was one of our pet picnic spots and I never

thought that place dangerous.

My sincere condolences. May his soul rest in peace.

Very sad and unfortunate. Extremely tough for the old parents, siblings and

colleagues to bear the loss of young and promising life. May God give them

Very tragic. I can imagine the grief the family is going through. It is so

difficult for parents to make sense of life even 30 or 40 years later. The

emotions are always very overwhelming and the events remain fresh and

frozen. May God give them the strength during this difficult time.

Its really sad to have such young bread earners die in such accidents. Others

should really take lessons from it. Even I have a history of drowning at that

dam but was lucky enough to be fished out safe. This place by no means is safe.

Local authorities should take some concrete steps to prevent such incidents in

future.

At times we all underestimates the risks and take things to lightly! It's our

loved one who have to suffer. May Jayant soul rest in peace and May god grant

courage to his family......

Dying at such a young age is a great tragedy. What a misfortune for those

who he left grieving behind. Heartfelt condolences for the family.

I associate Bor dam with some delightful picnics we had in our times. We too

had dips in the water but at that time the water seemed very tame. Surprised

to learn that it can turn so lethal.

On Sunday afternoon, Jayant and his four colleagues from Ophthalmology went

to Bordharan, a dam, about 25 km from Sevagram. Barely 10 feet from the

lake shore, he slipped and was sucked in deep waters. The body, 20 feet

deep in the lake and 100 feet from the shore, was recovered by divers after

an hour-long search.

Jayant leaves behind his father, a septuagenarian retired school-teacher,

mother, an elder sister and a younger brother. The last rites will be

performed on Monday noon in his village.

MGIMS will miss Jayant. His colleagues, teachers and nursing staff could

barely express their shock when the news spread on campus. Jayant was

considered a hard working, dedicated and committed resident in the

department. He thought that his new appointment would provide him enough

time and opportunity to hone skills in Ophthalmology and support his family.

The destiny had willed otherwise, though.

May his soul rest in peace.
