Guest guest
Dear all: *Outlook*, 25 June issue- available online- ranked MGIMS as the 21st best medical school in the country. Compared to 2011, when we were ranked 17th, this year we have gone a bit down- 21 st. Does the lower rank adversely reflect our quality of teaching, healthcare, research and extra-curricular activities? Be assured, it doesn't. For, three big ones- CMC, Vellore, Grrant Medical College, Mumbai and MAMC, Delhi did not participate in the opinion poll last year- these schools did not send their data to Outlook and, therefore, were " not considered " when Outlook assigned ranks to the medical schools. A quick look at the list reveals no surprises. We would have easily climbed several ladder-steps had our infrastructure been better. For example, St s has received 152 of 200 points for infrastructure, compared to 128 points assigned to MGIMS. Add these 24 points to the grand total, and we could gone 5 slots up!
