Brittany, (littleleaf) is the one you need to speak with on this topic. Many say that the only true test is to eliminate completely, and it takes a few months. Other's say that the saliva swap test is much more accurate http://enterolab.com/ http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/home/eng/home.asp http://www.gdx.net/ Jeanie To: miralax Sent: Wed, May 2, 2012 9:56:19 PMSubject: baby - eliminating gluten but tested negative for celiac

Hi -

My 13 month old is still battling constipation despite many many efforts. And her weight gain from 9 months to 13 months has been very low. She has tested negative for celiac but I'm wondering if others who are negative eliminated it anyway and saw great bowel improvement? My little one has very little gluten in her diet but I do eat it and she is breastfed. She consume very little liquid and I am having a hard time getting more in - short of syringing it in which seems unhealthy and invasive. Tips would be helpful!

Brittany,

For a baby...try mixing milk and malasis warmed up nd have her drink it...it should help loosen her stool.

Yes! It is definitely worth a try - many are missed via the standard blood

Celiac panel/testing..... And there is also non-Celiac gluten sensitivity that

is finally being recognized

In addition to eliminating gluten you could try flax oil. Dr sears recommends it

for children to increase the urge to go. Pears help my 2 year old. And adding

olive oil to food, also fish oil seems to help. I discovered that my little one

is sensitive to corn . And that it is binding. Corn is in a lot of processed

foods, including most baby and children's Tylenol. It's in corn syrup, dextrose,

maltodrextrin, many forms of xylitol, and also most vitamin c is made from it.

But maybe the molasses mixed in milk will work for her. Or u could mix it in a

purée. Probiotics are great for bowel issues too. You can message me for my

little ones regimen if you find that none of this is quite doing it for her.
