Guest guest
School Checked For Mold NewsChannel5.com - Nashville,TN* Posted: March 6, 2008 http://www.newschannel5.com/Global/story.asp?S=7978797 HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - Concerns about mold and air quality have school administrators in Sumner County taking aggressive action to ensure children, faculty and staff are safe. A report last year by a contractor found that the district needs to check the heating and air system at Walton Elementary School. " We did do that, " said , Sumner County Schools spokesman. said the school's ventilation system was cleaned and air quality tests were done as soon as the school district received the notice. " We did not find any mold, " said. Administrators said the school is safe and they have encountered any problems. However, another air quality test will be conducted this week to ensure children are safe. If anything is found, parents, faculty and staff will be alerted. The principal also had a letter sent to students' parents explaining the situation, which the school district believes doesn't pose a risk to students. Administrators said no child has become ill as a result of air quality issues at the school.
