Guest guest
Also, if I may ask. can anyone enlighten me as to the difference between Medicare & Medicare Supplemental insurance (medical + drug coverage). I have the supplemental but cannot afford it any longer really and also cannot get an answer anywhere (including Medicare.gov) as to the actual co-pays when it is Medicare only vs. the supplement. Thanks Angie I'm having trouble understanding what is the difference between a Medicare health plan and a Medigap plan. I don't even know if I can afford anything than the Part D drug plan that I've had the past year... Does anyone know the difference between these? I need to change my Part D drug plan and thought I'd see what other plans were available but can't understand...
Guest guest
I have only had Medicare and a Part D Drug Plan. Medicare only covers certain things, at that only 80%. There is a $150 deductible every year for Part B. (I've used Part B only so far. Part A is hospital coverage and don't know the deductible on that off hand.) If you drop your supplemental plan you will also have to pay for any medications on top of that. That is why I'm trying to see what Medigap is vs. Medicare Health Plan on medicare.gov site. I cannot afford seeing any Dr paying the $20%, and have not gotten further health care since TCI in Dec07 besides pain mgmt with meds. Also Part D Drug plans have gotten more expensive and certain meds such as Lyrica are now considered Tier 3. My monthly premium went up and Lyrica will be going from $30 copay to $75 per month if I don't find another drug plan or overall plan of some sort. I just can't understand Medigap...anyone have Medigap and can tell me the difference? > > Also, if I may ask. can anyone enlighten me as to the difference between > Medicare & Medicare Supplemental insurance (medical + drug coverage).
