Guest guest
The following exact quote from one of our local news programs teleprompt text doesn't list one of the four counties within our dispatch coverage, but it's still about activity handled by my Comm Center. (I guess " tri-county " is the traditional news coverage area and just because WE cover four doesn't mean they'll change their format. Besides, quad-county sounds stupid...) News text, verbatim: DUI Stats THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL MADE DOZENS OF DRUNK DRIVING ARRESTS OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND HERE ON THE CENTRAL COAST. AUTHORITIES IN THE TRI-COUNTY AREA ARE REPORTING " 52 D-U-I ARRESTS " . SINCE FRIDAY. 26-ARRESTS WERE IN MONTEREY COUNTY, 15 IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY. AND 16-ARRESTS IN SAN BENITO. MEANWHILE, STATE FIGURES SHOW THAT AT LEAST TEN-PEOPLE HAVE DIED SO FAR. DURING THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. THAT NUMBER IS ACTUALLY DOWN FROM 15-DEATHS LAST YEAR. <end news text> Happy to be here, proud to serve.
