I believe the original xylitol was made from birch. The NOW brand xylitol

is from corn.

Some people in another yahoogroup had anecdotal report that xylitol caused

jaw pain and locked jaw. The NOW brand caused me jaw pain.

If corn product, then likely contaminated GMO product. I would stay

away from it. BTW, beets which account for most domestic sugar, are now

a big part GMO.

NOW Xylitol is made from NON-GMO corn.
