Dear Fire,

I did have a couple of skin biopsies a few years back. The dermatologist

anesthetized the area, then used a little punch to take out a tiny piece of

flesh.

The procedure was painless, but there was a bit of soreness for a few days

afterward. The little hole he left filled itself in.

On the subject of blood tests, I am totally in the dark as to what numbers

mean. Kaiser only sends the lab results to me when they are normal.

Otherwise they call and schedule an appointment. The doctor then holds the

lab results as if

they were top-secret classified documents. How do others gain so much access

to this information?

Good luck! Ann

Hi,

It has been my understanding that legally all lab results are the property

of the patient and you are entitled to copies. Does anyone else know if

this is true? My experience has varied from doctor to doctor, but the best

docs I have seen always routinely give me a copy of any lab results. For

instance Darryl See's clinic in Irvine always handed me copies first thing

or even mailed them. My local endocrinologist has the nurse call whether

results are normal or not, then at the next apt I can get a copy of

anything.

If you have to apply for disability you can save a lot of time and money if

you have a file and simply provide the government or your insurance company

with copies.

So....Ann, I would just ask the nurse or office staff everytime I went in.

If you don't and you have to get a complete copy of your file some day it

will cost you a LOT. Some docs charge as much as $40 for a file.

I have had two skin biopsies and they were just a tiny bit uncomfortable. I

don't like needles so did not watch what was going on. Cannot help you out

with any of your test results. Carol/Piney

that mean i might have lupus, i have had ra ten years standing, and at the

beginning i had a ANA of 1 160 the next month 1 360 with a RF of 1400.my

latest RF was normal and SED normal. lst sed rate was 55.i found it odd my

RF and SED were normal and other stuff so screwed up. do you think the ENBEL

absolutly unforgetable. So very sad the lives that are affected as the

denial continues. Dr's .... WAKE UP !!!!
