Hello everyone. I am a new member here. I have been married for 12 years to my

AS husband, total 15 years together. His diagnosis was made one month ago,

although we have struggled with issues for many years. I wanted to find out

from the NT spouses on here, what have you been doing to increase your self

confidence? I have found that my self esteem is diminished to the lowest point

it has ever been. Prior to meeting my Aspie husband and during the first few

years of our marriage, I was a strong, confident successful career woman with

great friends. Silently and slowly, this disappeared. Especially once we had

our daughter and I stepped away from my career for some years. Once our

daughter was born, I also experienced severe post partum depression that drove

me to take our daughter and leave my husband, I never made it out the door, the

notion that I was going to do this made my husband crazy. Long story short, I

finally got help, did get better, and carried on. Adding fuel to the fire was

that because of the severity of my depression, my husband did not want to have

sex with me for the next few years because he did not want me to get pregnant

and go through the depression again. Needless to say, this, combined with many

other issues led to my anger and resentment. Now our daughter is 7, we have

this diagnosis, and I am not sure what the future holds for our relationship. I

am certain that I want my strength and self esteem back. I have returned to my

profession, part time and that has helped tremendously. I have also started

exercising again and that does help as well. Any other ideas? Nutrition,

vitamins, supplements? I also am trying to restore those friendships I once

had, though that has been slow moving. Any good book suggestions perhaps?

Thanks for any advice/suggestions you may have.
