Guest guest
Dear All It was indeed a shocking and what is more painful was that I was there in casualty when she was brought in and Dr Tirpude of same 1982 batch had to conduct PM examination on her. Dr Vinod Bele's (1979)daughter was not there in the car. Infact Dr Aparna's daughter was with some other girl. Dr Mapari's(1978), Dr Aparna(1982) and Dr Bele's daughter are classmates and are in final MBBS at JNMC Sawangi. Dr Bele's daughter also used to accompany her to coaching classes at Nagpur BUT luckily she did not travel with her on that fateful day. her funeral will be at Nagpur today. Dr Aparna Kadam-Gaikwad (1982 batch) lost her daughter, Shrushti this afternoon. Shrushti, a final MBBS medical student ( 2008 batch) at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Savangi ( Wardha) had hired a taxi to go to Nagpur this noon. She was taking tuition from a private coaching class for her PG entrance exam and would go to Nagpur twice a week for this task. A bus coming from Nagpur lost its balance near Pavnar, 5 km from Sevagram, and collided with the back end of the taxi. Shrushti lost her life on the spot. Dr Vinod Bele's daughter (Vinod Bele, 1980 batch) was also in the taxi- she escaped with minor head injury and was sent to Nagpur for medical treatment. The driver also escaped with fractured clavicle. Aparna had obtained PG in Ophthalmology from MGIMS. Her husband, Dr Suresh Gaikwad is a leading physician at Nagpur. Our heartfelt condolences to them. May God give peace to Shrushti's soul.
