Guest guest
Well deserved award,Congratulations Kaustubh and Swati! Sent from my iPad A day before, Kaustubh Gokhale (1990) was awarded prestigious Dr Vasantrao Gupte award for his decade-old ethical and pro-people practice in Nashik. The award, instituted in memory of Dr Gupte- he served as mayor of the city and was a social activist- is given every year to the Nashik doctors who show what good doctors are really all about. This year, 14 doctors from Nashik received this award. Kaustubh was the youngest among the chosen ones to get the award from the Vice Chancellor of MUHS, Dr Arun V. Jamkar. Kaustubh belongs to the batch of 1990. He obtained MBBS and MD (Medicine) from MGIMS and after a brief stint as lecturer in Medicine left MGIMS to practice as a private consultant in Nashik. Kaustubh was immensely popular among students for his teaching skills, and therefore everybody was surprised when he decided to say goodbye to academic medicine. Two things about Kaustubh flash across mind's kaleidoscope. His beautiful handwriting- no one on campus could match his handwriting- and his JAMA debut (he has the distinction of his first paper being published in JAMA in 2004). Congratulations, Kaustubh. We, at MGIMS are very proud of you. And let us not forget the significant contribution of Swati Amrute (1990) Kasturbh's wife and a distinguished Ob Gy specialist in Nasik- she is as much responsible for shaping Kaustubh's ethical practice and Kaustubh getting this award as Kaustubh's clinical work. Guest guest
Congrats Kaustubh! I don't know if hard and honest work always pays. Usually, it pays peanuts. So if despite that you have stuck to the hard route, you deserve all the kudos.
