Guest guest
It pains me a lot to share this news. Dr Aparna Kadam-Gaikwad (1982 batch) lost her daughter, Shrushti this afternoon. Shrushti, a final MBBS medical student ( 2008 batch) at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Savangi ( Wardha) had hired a taxi to go to Nagpur this noon. She was taking tuition from a private coaching class for her PG entrance exam and would go to Nagpur twice a week for this task. A bus coming from Nagpur lost its balance near Pavnar, 5 km from Sevagram, and collided with the back end of the taxi. Shrushti lost her life on the spot. Dr Vinod Bele's daughter (Vinod Bele, 1980 batch) was also in the taxi- she escaped with minor head injury and was sent to Nagpur for medical treatment. The driver also escaped with fractured clavicle. Aparna had obtained PG in Ophthalmology from MGIMS. Her husband, Dr Suresh Gaikwad is a leading physician at Nagpur.
