Guest guest
The FDA on Tuesday issued a requirement that these drugs and other antiepilpsey drugs carry a stronger warning about potential suicide risk. " FDA said in January its analysis of nearly 200 studies of 11 different epilepsy drugs showed patients taking the treatments were more likely to have suicidal thoughts and behaviors.... Pfizer said it would work with FDA to update labeling on Lyrica and Neurontin, an older drug which is approved to treat both epilepsy and nerve pain.... Physician groups like the American Epilepsy Society pressured FDA in recent months to take a measured approach on the warnings, arguing they could cause more harm than good if patients stop taking the drugs. " Obviously we hope that any of us with suicidal thoughts and those that need help with depression will seek help... I also know that I cannot stand the nerve pain without taking Topamax and Neurontin but I wanted to pass this on because on an earlier message I said I was not sure about Lyrica.
