Workers found the mold while replacing the air-conditioning system at the suburban Boynton Beach school, 6050 Gateway Blvd. Members of the school district's Construction Oversight Review Committee unanimously voted today to recommend the clean up to the school board, which is expected to approve the work next week. " When we have a problem, we need to attack it, " facilities management chief ph Sanches said. " We want to make sure our teachers and our kids are in a safe environment. " The problem includes mold damage to cabinets, floors, wood molding and shelving. Crystal Lakes is one of more than a dozen schools with persistent mold problems designed by the now-defunct Frizzell firm. The schools were built with air-conditioning systems that did not properly eliminate moisture from the building, Sanches said.
