Guest guest
2001-mycotoxins(PDF) filamentous fungi produce asexual spores(conidia)as a common mode of reproduction, and the conidia(hyperactive asexual sporulators) are the primary means of dispersion and mycosis(disease caused by fungal infection). mycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolites produced by toxigenic molds. " consumption " of mycotoxins by humans causes adverse health effects such as liver and kidney damage and cancer and death. fungi include significant human pathogens, and fungal diseases have become a major cause of death in patients with SUPPRESSED immune systems. furthermore, recent studies suggest that mycotoxin-carrying fungal spores may be one of the main causes of sick building syndrome.
