Hello, Bethany:

I was very concerned on readinhg your post....I have NEVER heard of anyone

taking 5 tablespoons of DMSO at one time. The most that people like Dr

s and others who are long time experts in the field recommend , in case

of stroke, as far as I know , is one teaspoon every fifteen minutes in

orange juice (or other juice) for two hours and one teaspoon every half

hour for the next two hours.....and no more!

My untrained suspicion is that you thinned your blood too much.....I am not

a professional and this is not to be taken as a medical opinion , just a

personal opinion. I would look at thickening my blood.....check out the

question on the internet. Chicken broth, natural chicken broth comes to

mind , or beef broth. In short, EAT!!!

Best,

Taffy

Subject: New to forum - took too much DMSO

Hi everyone, I am new and have enjoyed learning from your posts. Last night

I took more DMSO than I was ready for - 5 tablespoons. I thought I had a

blood clot to dissolve, and took a tablespoon every 20 minutes with apple

juice.

I am experiencing heart palpitations and nausea. I have read that H2O2 will

convert DMSO to MSM...has anyone done this or does anyone have any

suggestions?

Thanks,

Bethany

Taffy,

Thanks so much for your reply! I will try eating, thanks. Although I don't

feel much like it.

I did spend the early morning at the ER (I am thoroughly embarassed at having

taken such a huge dose!) and received fluids and Zofran. I am still alive thus

far! The doc didn't know what DMSO was, though. And it turns out I don't have

a blood clot either.

I would try & get in touch with the Dr s' contact info should be

available via google) and get advice asap as to the best line of action - I

disagree re blood changes & consider the liver to be the most affected by

this - meantime I reckon drink apple juice with 1 tablespoon of apple cider

vinegar per glass - two glasses in the first hour and then 1 glass per hour

thereafter.

Taking MSM myself I get a very strong detox with the minimum amount so I

wouldn't even consider that option for your problem.

Jane,

Thanks for that info, I will research Dr. s as well as possible liver

problems.

You could also eat eggs.....best would be raw eggs, which are entirely easy

to drink if beaten well with some fruit in blender and perhaps some milk or

better yet, cream. The albumin in the eggs might help quickly.

You took a very dangerous dose of DMSO in my opinion and if I were you, I

would not tell many people because this is the sort of thing that gets

products wrongly banned and then the correct usage is off limits to those

who need and depend on the product.

I believe, not that I know , the reason DMSO appears to help in the case of

stroke is that it may thin the blood...........you may have thinned your

blood beyond all reason and will need some time to build it up.

All the best,

Taffy

Bethany-

I totally concur with Taffy's recommendation to eat something like broth as

soon as possible.

Don't take H2O2. You don't need to compound your problems right now.

Having taken 3 tablespoons in one day, just to see what it would do, I can

tell you that you've thinned your blood too much. The palpitations are from

the heart trying to make up for low blood pressure. However, I sure didn't

take 5 tablespoons inside of two hours like you did.

You need to eat and rest.

Thanks, I will go and do that right now. I have some chicken bone broth in the

freezer somewhere. I have emailed Dr. as well.

Thanks for the egg suggestion. Albumin will help build up the blood? I will

look into that.

I completely agree...I know of several people that have used DMSO as part of

autism treatment, that's the reason I joined this group, I definitely wouldn't

want to affect the availability of DMSO.

Thanks,

That much DMSO will certainly make one nauseaus. Am surprised you didn't

vomit. The body generally rejects stuff that's toxic that way.....not that

the DMSO is toxic but phew you will be for a while.

If you add H2O2 to your tummy my guess is that you will throw up. Just sit

it out.

Yes, if H2O2 is mixed with DMSO, it does precipitate out some MSM. Janet

can tell you how it works chemically more thoroughly than I.

About a year ago my friend had what the docs decided was a Transient

Global Amnesia (as opposee to a TIA). You got it..transient--hasn't

happened before nor again and likely will not;, global

amnesia--completely lost a few hours.

His wife called me to help persuade him to go to the ER since she

couldn't convince him that he wasn't remembering. Not being a medical

person I told her I'd take half to a quarter cup of DMSO in water ASAP

just in case he was having a stroke. He took it. Don't know if the

DMSO stopped anything so that the diagnosis was so squirrlley or if the

event was just that squirrlley. (he was under tremendous stress at the

time and TGA's are often stress related).

The volume of DMSO he took--more than 5 tablespoons--didn't hurt him in

the least. It did hurt those of us who visited him in the hospital while

they were running tests. He smelled soooooo bad all the way down the

hall. But zero damage and zero recurrence. His precious wife even told

the medical folks that " we use it to clear out the dog's arteries and I

know it has the toxicity of water so I tho't it couldn't hurt. "

Glad you're feeling better. Saralou

Some thoughts on this...

You said you didn't have a clot after all; not trying to be funny, but you

probably don't have a clot NOW!

When I was so badly injured in Dec. '10, I knew my greatest danger was

thrombosis from a clot. Since I was already a seasoned DMSO taker, I took it

regularly. One night I felt something literally go through my brain,

probably a clot, and I didn't have a stroke or any other form of thrombosis

because I took DMSO every day during that ordeal.

But- I've tried and tried to warn people- you need to detox first with MSM,

then with DMSO, just to be prepared for emergencies like these.

I'll put dollars to doughnuts that if this was your first taking of DMSO,

then not only have you over-thinned your blood, but you've also liberated

every toxin that your body had ever withheld and you're having an enormous

detox session that may last for days yet. Hang on...it will get better.

Don't know why but the baking soda sounds like a good idea but DON'T overdo

that one either.

Don't tell professionals that you took DMSO for another reason. In some

locations self medication is enough reason to get you locked up and even

declared incompetent. Yes, really.

Thanks so much for that story!! That's so interesting...I must be having a

liver detox for sure. I have had liver problems (cholestasis of pregnancy) in

the past so maybe that's what I'm going through. I'm also pretty sure I'm metal

toxic (amalgams removed recently).

That's so great that he's better! I'm definitely still detoxing today, I'm

hopeful that I'll have some good things come out of this.

Thanks so much for all that wonderful information!

Can I ask how much DMSO you took during that injury recovery period?

Also, when you talk about detoxing with MSM first, how much/how long?

Thanks, I'm obviously very ignorant of stuff I should have found out before

trying DMSO. Am trying to get caught up.

That's so amazing about a possible clot going through your brain! My foot,

where I think the possible clot is (not so sure now that the ER doc was right in

telling me I didn't have one), feels about 50% better now.

Thanks,

Bethany

Interesting…..I've had two of those global amnesia events….not fun! But no sign

of it being a TIA either.
