Good morning Sandy,

Thank you for bringing reality back into my life. I am an avid fan of

fresh foods but lately I've resorted to prepared foods a bit more often

than necessary.I've been in lazy mode and sometimes "pity party"

mode. This energizer turtle (me) needs a good kick in the shell and you

did it Sandy. Kudos to you.

I must add to your post how important it is to be patient. Many try

something for a couple days and say it doesn't work. Benefits do not

happen overnight. 2 weeks, 3, a month? Patience is a virtue and we all

know we are virtuous. ;~) Sandy you have the key: persevered- and not worried about someone not

liking breath or tummy full of wind for a week or two.

Another thought..............I learned to love yogurt and yes I

recall it took me a couple weeks. I take a spoon and let it linger in

my mouth and kind of swish with it then swallow. I want all that good

acidophilus to get between my teeth and on my gums as well as on my

tongue and down my throat. I've had bronch for more than 4 years and

had thrush once. My nurse is amazed and asked what I am doing to

prevent it? I rinse my mouth and gargle with plain water after each

treatment of inhaled meds and eat yogurt once a day and sometimes

twice.

Story: My sister has thrush so bad it is out of control. She refuses to

eat yogurt (too climy she says) , I just can't take the time to rinse

and gargle each time and I hate water. These are her words. So she

suffers for no reason other than procrastinating. I used to get on her

case regularly but finally told her it is her life and if this is what

she chooses to ignore then so be it. Although I ache in my heart for

her as she has severe emphysema. We live 2000 miles apart so I can't

just go over and bop her on the head.

Anyway enough from me. My dreams are one day wa la a cure will be

found that will allow us to get up and go like we used to. Some day

that will come.

Hugs,

Nan

Hello Joan, Joy all.

Joan I haven't had sputum so to

speak for well over 9 years except when had really severe asthma attack.

I can tell you you all need to know

yourselves inside and out, and sorry to sound spoil sporty or

whatever-- BUT sometimes the things we love, like to chill out with

etc, JUST at specific times MUST be put to the side if we really are

serious about either getting well, or at least over the lousy

infections, tiredness, thrush and whatever else..

I am allergic to all meds-- and

really thought I would die within 2 years of not being able to be

treated as before etc.

Well not so-- I am here to tell

stories-- and I can send over 50 letters to prove I should be dead--

also to show my life really wasn,t expected to go on after all meds

taken away etc.

Whatever, little sputum -- pea size

sometimes-- I take in specimen jar to be checked-- if I feel its off in

smell, odd in color or a lot etc.

I also make sure I haven,t had

anything colored or smelly like fish etc, 12 hrs before taking specimen

to doc.

Doctors only have our bloods, urine

, and sputum to go by and or PFTs etc.

WE must take responsibility--

like a computer they are only as good as the data put in.

All meds for infections upset gut,

or give you thrush etc-- so get to know what to use to asist and if

trying to do this without MORE meds please try the things like

yoghurt-- topically as well as eaten-- ensuring its any of those with

acidophilus-- don’t, use harsh soaps or talcs in female areas

either just wash with tepid water, keep cotton undies for those times--

( that’s why all have cotton gusset)

Drink enough water eat root vegs and

for anyone who wants to steer clear AND are fair dinkum about getting

rid of ANY infections EAT REAL fresh-- not jarred or tabs either FRESH

cooked any way you like-- may take you a month to get used to it if it

concerned you before-- BUT you will do away with infections-- IF it

wasn,t against the law and rules of chats etc.

I would guarantee and even bet my

life on the value and success.

Maybe you get upset tum, wind,

smelly breath-- BUT whats worse -- cruel fevers infections hospital

drips, and possible side effects even death JUST cos of simple to treat

side effects--

Sorry I sound cynical-- BUT I now

know well over 20 people like myself who would be dead if we hadn,t

persevered- and not worried about someone not liking breath or tummy

full of wind for a week or two.

I can send you or any doc at least

20 people with COPD and another 10-15 with some horrible life

threatening infections-- who have got a clear slate within 4-6 years of

lifestyle changes-- early enough-- I love a wine-- BUT would never

touch while even slighly feeling unwell- temp, even headaches etc--

JUST isn,t a done thing-- Listen to your body-- these times it usually

craves water, same as over exhaustion-- body craves sweets-- BUT again

maybe only a day or so and it will crave a particular FRUIT- yes the

sugar in the fruit--.

Please DO NOT EVER say oh to hell

with it all, I don,t know anymore, and I doubt or am sure docs don,t

either etc.

Never say Who really knows-- our

bodies do.

Don,t question well how do I know

the docs are right, the tests are right-- you have to believe-- BUT you

also have to take the responsibility to listen and look after your

inside better than the ouside-- and I guarantee a better, happier

life-- whether for a year or 20.

Hugs

Sandy T--

You might get other things later

like R/A diabetes etc-- BUT we all will continue to get something-- NOT

a life sentence-- not depression which makes you feel LOW-- people who

really feel low are those who are sad, unhappy for longer than 2 weeks

straight-- then they need to look at attitude, why- and therapy-- any

illness will make one feel low-- GET control over your health and LIFE.

Hi, Sandy, good to hear from you again. I agree with going natural and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for R/A. My blood work last week showed I have the factor but it's not too bad right now. Is there anything besides Calcium and Vit D I should be taking. Thanks.
