Guest guest
You know, someone on the kombucha list said that they might try growing k in a bathtub so they could soak in the tea! You might want to try that. And of course there is kombucha manna drops. This is made by grinding the mother shroom and preserving it in alcohol. Then you just add the drops of the manna into your drinks. It has all the benefit of drinking the tea with the portability of a dropper bottle. With the size mother you have, you could go into commercial business!! Lol Samala, -------Original Message------- I may have to approach it with a machete to open the container and find another container for it before we begin because if I remember rightly you can't really put kombucha in plastic - only food grade plastic containers or glass, I'll have difficulty finding anything big enough! Guest guest
LOL - I used to keep it in these neat little glass jars with clip-on glass lids - this gave a 4 - 5 " neat " mother " circle which I used to give people - we made it in the early 90's when a Slovakian girl introduced us to it as her parents had always drunk it - what you suggest is a good idea (grinding the mother in alcohol) as a couple of friends felt that they developed those arthritic nodules on their fingers after taking the drink for several weeks ..... Guest guest
The lady said she used a plastic garlic press to grind it--as the mother is not suppose to touch metal. Said it took her a while to find one, but that s how she wound up making the drops. I have a juicer with hard nylon grinding bars-wheels, whatever they are called (though they are oblong shape and not wheel shaped) and will try that with my mother shroom. It's about 6 or 7 inches thick, and gallon sun tea jar size, so I should get a lot from it. Many people on the list had said they use to put the tea and a bit of mother into small shot glasses, or small liquor glasses to make round 'bandages' as the mother sticks so good to a wound and helps heal. Interesting what can be done with kombucha, huh? Guest guest
I just bought a garlic chopper - pretty sure it's all plastic > The lady said she used a plastic garlic press to grind it--as the mother > is > not suppose to touch metal. Guest guest
Huh. Ours is metal. But then I finally found a plastic one but really had to search for it. You want to pretty much 'juice' it so need to grate it very fine. I haven't done mine yet, but know I'll get real juice, because it's going through a real juicer. But the developer of this said she used a garlic chopper, so yours should be fine. Let us know. Guest guest
I was reading the Swami Ramdev's recipe for myocardial infarction & " unplugging the arteries " : 200mL garlic juice, 200mL ginger juice, 200mL lemon juice in 600mL honey ....... They made the garlic juice by finely chopping the garlic & blending with water & straining ...... >200ml Ginger juice, 200ml Garlic juice, 200ml Lemon juice mix to these 600ml of honey and store. Have 3 tablespoons daily! Mix need not be stored in the refrigerator as all the ingredients are preservatives.....nothing happens to it!< Re: biotin/kombucha/Lyn > Huh. Ours is metal. Guest guest
Hey Smitty I don't know why you copied me in on this cuz I'm not the math wiz either. ;-) I found this inversion chart and it seems like the best one, so I saved it and use it often. http://www.worldwidemetric.com/measurements.html Oh, and for the biotin people: My order came and I started taking some two days ago and - tho this seems awfully quick - I am already seeing changes in my face. Thumbs up for biotin so far. Would it impact the liver?< I don't know that, but it would stand to reason that everything we put in our bodies would affect the liver. Are you sure it's the biotin? I am asking because the dosage is so small, to me it would seem to be too insignificant. Lyn
