I'm going to sound like a broken record tonight, but again, food intolerances

were the culprit for my older two regarding bedwetting & yes, it definitely was

tied to constipation - at least for my older son.

My 7 yr old has only the bed on very rare occasions for the past few years & it

is always tied to an accidental exposure to a food to which he is intolerant &

we avoid (for him - gluten, dairy, soy, & egg are the main ones, though too much

grain of any kind can cause problems too).

My 5 yr old was barely 1 when we adjusted our diets and he had no bedwetting

issues as he transitioned to underpants. He has wet the bed probably less than

5 times in his life - and I can definitely say it was tied to food. (as an

aside, he has also not suffered from constipation like his older brother

experienced & I believe it to be because our diets changed so early for him. He

has had just a little trouble passing his stool on a couple of occasions &

again, it correlated to accidental exposure to his problem foods...

best,

accident " by Dr. Steve Hodges. He claims that most children that have bedwetting

issues are also constipated. He recommends Miralax and/or enemas to clear the

blockage in the rectum. I started both but now that I came across this group I

am concerned about giving Miralax to my kids. My 5 year old asks for enemas.

Does anyone know if enema usage may also have side effects later on?

difficulty but I didn't like the idea of giving her a petroleum product so I

started with flax oil. That's why I was looking for solutions to this problem

elsewhere.
