Guest guest
Hi I've been trying to find solutions for intermittent issues with constipation that my children (7 and 5 year olds) have been having. The older child had bedwetting issues as well. I .started reading " It's no accident " by Dr. Steve Hodges. He claims that most children that have bedwetting issues are also constipated. He recommends Miralax and/or enemas to clear the blockage in the rectum. I started both but now that I came across this group I am concerned about giving Miralax to my kids. My 5 year old asks for enemas. Does anyone know if enema usage may also have side effects later on? I have been giving them flax oil and prunes in addition to their diet but it may not be enough to deal with the problem. Our pediatrician recommended mineral oil when my infant (3Rd child just turned 1 yesterday) started solids at 6 months and was passing hard stools with difficulty but I didn't like the idea of giving her a petroleum product so I started with flax oil. That's why I was looking for solutions to this problem elsewhere. I appreciate any advice you may have. Thanks,
