Jeannie I have been off since September. I was on it for 3 months, was put on shortly after I turned 43 and want to thank you and everyone so much for all the work you have done on the FDA petition. The bloating started while on it and never quit.

When h was on Miralax he was terribly bloated. The GI said it was because he needed a clean out first then the use of Miralax.Well the clean out made no difference and he continued to be bloated on it for a very long time. Now that he is off of Miralax, the only time he is bloated is when he is constipated and that is not too often any more since we started a new program to help him. Jeannie it is very irritating. I am now on an other drug that has just been approved called prucalopride. Because of nasty pain I am on narcotic meds and that combined with decreased ability to move makes me constipated. A year and a half ago I started vomitting and can only keep Boost and Ensure down without feeling sick. I have polyps in my stomach (possibly from Protonix) which they say cannot be the cause.

My GP is trying his best for me but is at a loss. The drug co. says I need to double the prucalopride but he is not doing it because I suffer side effects from half strength.

He would like to do testing that the GI doctors here will not do, he is thinking nerve damage now. (I think Miralax increased it).

Just interesting this is now the 5th drug in that time period I am trying. I am losing hope and wish I could travel to the US because doctors there do not seem to give up if the condition is not readily diagnosed. I have breathing problems, spine problems and now this.

I also gained about 7 pounds on Miralax (while being terribly sick) that has never disappeared.

Tomorrow I am having a serious talk with my sister who has her 10 year old and 7 year old on it. She says it is only a quarter of the recommended dose but it is still freaking me out. They have been on it for at least a year.

Sorry I am very down from my health, thanks for listening.

Rae, I think you're idea sounds logical. One can only see what comes into the MedWatch AERS reporting system database and research what other's have reported to better understand what this drug has done to people. I would encourage everyone to sit down with their Physician's and go over them with a fine tooth comb. Very sorry to hear your story...................http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/miralax/ warm regards,Jeanie To: miralax Sent: Sat, May 26, 2012 2:20:13 AMSubject: Re: bloated

Rae,

I am so sorry to hear of your health struggles. May I suggest trying something called Kangen water? It is a medical-grade oxygenated, alkaline water that can be very beneficial to your health. Our family has been making/drinking Kangen water for the past three years. To find a distributor near you, try entering Kangen water followed by your town name. If you have someone in your area, this person would be able to provide water to you free of charge so that you may try it. Do I recall correctly that you live in Canada? Kangen water has been available in Canada for many years... perhaps 20 years.

Hiromi Shinya, M.D., Chief of Endoscopy at Beth Israel Medical Center, NY, developed the colonoscopy procedure to remove polyps and uses Kangen water in bringing better health to his patients. Author of The Enzyme Factor, Dr. Shinya, provides specific dietary advice to prevent disease. Here are some of his colonoscopy case studies: http://www.kangen1info.com/shinyacasestudies.html

The Japanese have been far advanced in the field of preventative "medicine" for years. Of course, Big Pharma doesn't like their approach to health.

Feel free to contact me with questions.
