I think you are mistaken, SP Sir. (It is rare that I get an opportunity to

say that.)

Dr Bang was from the 1971 batch.

And I know this personally. He was my senior.

Subject: Dr Govind Bang passes away

Dear all:

I am sorry to share with you that Dr Govind Bang ( batch of 1969) passed

away on Tuesday following an acute illness.

Dr Bang was admitted to a private tertiary-care facility at Nagpur

following an episode of acute severe pancreatitis. He developed respiratory

failure- requiring mechanical ventilation- and died because of multi-organ

failure.

Dr Bang belongs to the 1969 batch- the first MGIMS batch. He graduated from

MGIMS, went out to specialize in Psychiatry and for over three decades

was practicing Psychiatry in Nagpur. He was also a visiting faculty to

Medical College, Sawangi (Wardha), a post that he left few years ago.

Married to Dr Durga ( Anesthesiologist), and survived by two daughters, Dr

Bang was popular in Vidarbha for putting at ease the dis-eased minds. He

will be sorely missed by his patients who valued his patience and empathy.

May his soul rest in peace.

Dear Dr Kalantri and all,

Dr Govind Bang belonged to my batch 1971 batch. A very good man by heart.

May God give courage to his family to bear this loss.
