Why do dogs lick?

Actually all of you are right.

Dogs do like to lick because of the salt we excrete from skin. In

addition, exposure to toxins causes a stress response, as a result

there is more sugar in the blood which dogs can smell. My company is

going to start training dogs in 2009 for hyperglycemia detection ---

they have been using dogs to detectthis in diabetic people for years.

In addition, they also can sense other pheromones elicited during the

stress response.
