Guest guest
Hey Gang - just wondering... My husband and I moved to the North side of our city 4 years ago, and less than a year into our move, I began having a myriad of weird symptoms (severe allergies, appendix rupturing, chronic pain, degenerating discs in my lumbar, etc.) So the story goes:docs...mental illness...hypochondria...too much stress... Now I've got this Fibromyalgia diagnosis (ridiculous blanket diagnosis if you ask me. We never really EXPLAIN what - exactly - is causing it.) I'm seeking " alternative treatments " now (some of which ARE working!!!), and what I've discovered is that LOTS of women and men in our area are experiencing severe thyroid issues, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue. We do live on a bluff, and have been told that there's a particular chem plant nearby. No secret, really - we can see the thing, but when I called the EPA, they denied knowing about anything " chemical " in the area, which bordered on insane and...funny. We can SMELL propane from the North at times, and have multiple containers in view from the bluff. OK. No chemmies. Just pretty chemmie containers. Even better, my husband and I have actually had the SAME allergic reactions between 8 and 10pm. So - what's a gal to do? Selling the house is not an option. Wish it were, but it's not. Is anyone familiar with Portland Or.? The question is: how DO I get the info I need? Where do I go to find out what's actually in the area? I'd reallyt like to get a group together and do...something. Wouldn't it be nice of realty companies had to diclose this sort of chemical info before showing and/or selling a house? I realize it'll come back to haunt me, but...at least my conscience will be clear. Suggestions....? Thanks, C

Guest guest
There is a internet site that will give you info on chemicals in your area. Speaking of Dr Rae, I found out about it because when I arrived at his clinic, they provided me with that information, what chemicals are in my area, air pollutants. It's call Scorecard.org. Put your zip code in. It told me lead was in a good number of homes in my area and I had had hair analysis done that showed I had high lead level in my hair. http://www.scorecard.org/ > > Hey Gang - just wondering... > My husband and I moved to the North side of our city 4 years ago, and > less than a year into our move, I began having a myriad of weird
