Guest guest
Mia, I suggest you try calling Clinical Practice Plan, who does the billing and insurance issues for TCI and North Shore Hospital. You would be going straight to the " horse's mouth " so to speak. Ask for someone who can answer questions regarding your visit to TCI. As far as I know, that IS what they require, the $550.00 when you arrive for the visit, to cover the costs of the consultations. They know up front that they will be " out of network " as they do not participate as " in network " with any insurance companies. As far as I know, the only exception to this is if you have Medicare, then you do not have to pay upfront. Though TCI is not a participating provider with any insurance companies, often the hospital or diagnostics will be, so it's just best to find out with your own insurance first, if you want a clear idea of what things will cost. On the TCI website, there is definitive information on their insurance policy: http://www.chiariinstitute.com/insurance.html Just to be sure, you should perhaps check with CCP and then with your own insurance prior to your visit. Kathleen has written alot about dealing with insurance and TCI (find this in the FILES section) and has stated that you should work for prior approval to go to TCI before you go for surgery. It's much easier than trying to get approval AFTER you go. Just some tips and ideas. Is tehre a particular person I should ask for? Thanks, > Mia >
