Guest guest
Because of DMSO's ability to quickly transport what is on the surface of the skin directly into the bloodstream, I would not mix it with anything. DMSO itself can be dangerous if one uses the industrial grade rather than the medicinal grade because of the difference in purity. I use the industrial grade to disaggregate sandstone in order to prepare fossils but I wear butyl gloves to prevent penetration of the skin. To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Wednesday, April 4, 2012 4:52 PM Subject: question on DMSO and essential oils  Hi, group, I have chronic lyme arthristis pain. Over heard few essential oils can help inflammation and pain. Is it safe mix it with DMSO rubbing into the pain area? expert opinion, please. Guest guest
My rule of thumb when applying or using DMSO is this.. I only combine something with DMSO if I would eat it and even at that, I would be reticent to use cayenne pepper or something like that with DMSO. If you know you won't get into trouble using DMSO by itself, why take the risk? I roll it on my knees/wrists and then follow up with high quality essential oils. I have had great results. I use the 50/50 ratio for body parts above the waist, and the stronger mixture for below the waist. I hope that helps. ~Mimi www.iammimi.com
