Guest guest
Hi all, I was handed a Lab Slip today and told to go have blood drawn. A Routine Culture for Bacteria, Mold and Fungi. Has anyone had this done? I was just wondering if it's that easy, or if I should request any " Special " tests. I'm a bit leary, and want to have the proper test done the first time around and done the right way. Thanks!
Guest guest
Blood cultures will only come back positive if you have an overwhelming amount of organisms in the blood. This means that you are very ill and the only time this comes back positive in my experience is if you are in the ICU in the hospital or soon to be sent to the ICU. Otherwise, this is a waste of time. See Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker's website for a long list of lab tests to consider. Sincerely, Dr. Camp M.D. (415) 383 9903 Office (415) 383 9901 Fax www.drcamphealth.com

See: http://www.anapsid.org/cnd/diffdx/marinkovitch.html He goes by IgG tests if one or two of them are high. Typically an IgM will not show anything high, even if you're swimming in it... Guest guest
there is a webstie that you can order your OWN labs...granted they do not have the FULL gamet, but, most standard tests and the prices are reasonable....no need to go to the dr to get the referral. this is a self pay site for labs _http://www.healthcheckusa.com/_ (http://www.healthcheckusa.com/)
