Guest guest
Hi again- Thanks to those who have also replied to me offlist. My vet has prescribed CSM for my dog. He's 24 pounds, so one gram 2x per day. I know he needs to take it on an empty stomach and also take something for constipation. This may be a question a person who has taken CSM can answer too - how long does he take it to get the toxins out? A few weeks and then stop, assuming there is no additional exposure? He's having some liver issues and I know CSM is hard on the liver. Any additional advice would be appreciated as my vet and I are flying blind on this. I plan to take CSM too but am waiting for my appt. with Dr. Shoemaker. Guest guest
ah knowing that dogs systems are different in many ways than ours...if it was me i would have the csm made into a WATER based homepathic remedy rather than run the risk of giving mine a drug. that's why i suggested going to a vet with training in alt medicine for the utmost protection when it comes to using human drugs i know a lot of the human drugs are normally given to dogs in lower doses but some i question. just how i would proceed if it was my dog
Guest guest
to those who have dogs and think they may have been affected-what have the symptoms been? My black Pomeranians did not seem to suffer any ill effect, but my fiances blond cocker was throwing up regularly when we were in our mold house and stopped when we moved. My older but healthy cat developed what the vet said was cancer in his face and I had to have him put to sleep cause it got so bad. I didn't know it at the time but now I'm pretty sure it was the mold. The cocker, like me has gained alot of weight. So frustrating. Dr. Gray says no diet and exercise will rid the weight gain-only continued use of sequestering agents, csm, charcoal, liquid clay ,YUMMY!!!! Hope I can lose some of this weight soon-anyone else suffering the weight gain?? Guest guest
ntefusa- i totally understand where you are coming from about using a natural remedy instead of CSM. i haven't ruled that out at all and am seeking out such a vet. right now, I'm just desperate to get the toxins out as quickly as possible so they stop damaging my dog's organs. so I'm trying to CSM cautiously while monitoring him and taking another blood test in a few weeks to see if there is any improvement. if anyone has tried specific herbal remedies for detoxing dogs, i'd love to hear about them. laurie- once my dog was out of the mold, he didn't show any symptoms, but his bloodwork has told a different story. his liver has gotten worse and worse over the 6 months we've been out (and he has not be reexposed). he has been living with my parents where there is no cross- contamination, etc. i've been diagnosed with trith. mytoxicosis (sp?) and we both had a very lethal dose of the mycotoxins. the toxins are in our bodies and will keep damaging our organs until we get them out. k. --- In , laurie lowery <lannl4@...> wrote: > > > to those who have dogs and think they may have been affected-what have the symptoms been? Guest guest
I'm also trying to get some advice from Dr. Croft who analyzed my biopsy and is also a vet. I'm hoping he knows about some natural remedies or if CSM is the way to go. I've tried to call him a handful of times but he's a busy guy. oh and laurie yes, i gained weight too. dr. shoemaker has written a bit about this being related to the toxins and once you get the toxins out you should be able to lose some weight. --- In , laurie lowery <lannl4@...> wrote: > > > to those who have dogs and think they may have been affected-what have the symptoms been? Guest guest
Laurie, What helps is not eating any refined sugar or amylose. Amylose is found in foods grown under the ground. the only thing that you can have of that group is red potatoes. sweetners to use stevia or agave. hope that helps. a laurie lowery <lannl4@...> wrote: to those who have dogs and think they may have been affected-what have the symptoms been? Guest guest
Great suggestions. He was on organic dog food but we're now doing organic people food - basically chicken and vegetables - to combat the yeast. I've also just ordered the canine probiotics from natra.com as someone on this listserve suggested. I had been giving him bottled water for years as our tap water was always yucky. I've just learned that I should be using water from glass bottles. So making that switch. This is a great listserve with lots of good information and caring people. Thanks for your help. - K. > > are you feeding him real organic dog food? bottled-glass water? >
Guest guest
I gained tons of weight being exposed to this stuff, but once I started cleanses & CSM the weight just fell off of me. The toxins get stored in our fat cells & once I started CSM the toxins & fat cells got mobilized & flushed (as Dr. Shoemaker puts it)! Hugs, Cheryl The cocker, like me has gained alot of weight. Guest guest
If these vets find a nartural remedy, might it not in a different dosage also work on humans as well? Guest guest
I had a long talk with Dr. Croft who is a vet but also a human pathologist and analyzed my skin biopsy. He explained to me why he felt his natural protocol (a mix of all kinds of things) would be better than CSM. I'm switching my dog to that tomorrow and I'm going to try it as well. > I'm also trying to get some advice from Dr. Croft who analyzed my > biopsy and is also a vet. Guest guest
Kats, I'd be very interested in hearing about this, if you feel you can share the information on the list or privately. I have some health concerns that might prohibit use of csm or any cholesterol meds. Thanks, Sam katsdream17 <katsdream17@...> wrote: I had a long talk with Dr. Croft who is a vet but also a human pathologist and analyzed my skin biopsy.
