Newbies: introduction

I am Clair (41) and my daughter is Sofia (7). We both have CI. I have

been exposed to mercury, pesticides, cigarette smoke. My daughter was

born with body-wide eczema and has had food allergies for many years

but was injured to the point of complete disablility when her school

installed industrial-grade carpet in her kindergarten classroom and

when she was exposed to pesticides in the lawn of a relative. We both

react to mold exposure; it causes feelings of foggy-headedness,

anxiety, exhaustion and anger.

Sofia is homeschooled as we have yet to find a school of any type

that is authentically safe for her health. She does not go to many

public or private places away from home because of the quantity and

toxicity of chemicals, VOCs and mold that are present in the vast

majority of settings.

I suspect I have had CI since childhood. The symptoms have been

getting progressively worse over the past 10 years or so. The stress

of seeing my child injured and the struggle to find help/solutions

for her has been severe. My symptoms have been worse in the last six

months than ever before.

I am very glad to be here as it is a great consolation to find on-

line support in dancing with these issues. We are also members of the

Green Canary and Tenth Paradigm groups.
