Guest guest
Just because a drug is from the US, doesn't mean it's any better than from other countries - talk to the families of the 81 people that died from Heparin. I have to have heparin after IV use of my port - mine from from a supplier just 20 miles from our home - Baxter - but it wasn't really - ingredients were from China - somebody, somewhere cut corners and used a synthetic ingredient - BUT it had a US name on the syringe. Then the pharmacy changed to another supplier - a few months later another batch from another company (still in the Chicago area) was recalled. I got very lucky and didn't get sick. There are very few drugs made in this country anylonger. You'd be shocked where your asprin comes from, your vitamin C, etc. We've gotten Sporanox from the US, from Canada - but this time is from Mexico US - Sporanox - without ins around $500 US - Sporanox - w/ ins around $115 Canadian Sporanox - $90 Mexican Sporanox - $50 All came in the same packaging, same company, same size dose, same number of pills - Jensen pharma. Counterfeit drugs can come from any source - remember the pharmacist in the midwest (ST. Louis or Kansas City?)a few years ago watering down chemo? I've had 2 docs recommend purchasing our meds from either Canada or Mexico to help with the costs. How many months of Sporanox could you afford at the " US " price? For the cost of 1 months in the US, we can almost a years worth from Mexico. No brainer for us.
