Guest guest
& #8195; Hi Carole, Sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly. It does take time and patience to heal. My best advice is to take a good multi-mineral and adrenal support supplements. My top supplements other than minerals, especially, a good amount of magnesium, are vitamin D3 and iodine. For blood sugar problems make sure to take vitamins A, B complex at least 100 mgs, C, D, E, choline, inositol, lysine, methionine, and a glandular such as Bio-Glycozyme Forte may be helpful. If you have gut issues take a 20 million plus probiotic, liver support and HCL if you have low stomach acid. Also, l-glutamine powder is helpful. Another product that seems to be helping me is GI-Revive; it does contain a little soy but I am tolerating it well. I take Braggs apple cider vinegar before meals even now. If you still don't feel you probably need food allergen testing and also gut bugs such as yeast and bacteria testing. It wasn't until I started iodine supplementation and daily exercising that I was able to lose weight. Perhaps do iodine deficiency testing. Also, we need to be careful not to replace wheat gluten with bad food like corn. Rice can be problematic for some with gluten allergies or intolerances. I just decided to eat Paleo and have done it for the last two months, no grains at all. I am doing so much better; I have lost weight without trying. HA! I hope this helps, ~Bj > > I have been on this list for about a month. During that time i have read the book Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms if I'm on the meds and I've also viewed the video at Hope for Hashimotos.com. I am on the Mediterranean diet except I still eat cheese. I'm allergic to milk so I substitute Rice Milk. I am on thyroxin and am afraid of trying iodide though I found a multi with serratonin in it this weekend and am trying it. Am I doing all the things I'm suppose to do for Hashimotos to get rid of the physical problems such as irritability, dry skin and inability to lose weight? Is there a particular site which tells the amounts of each food allowed? I know I'm suppose to stay with low glycemic fruits and veggies AND eat something protein or vegetable based about every 2 hours for the low blood sugar which I also experience. I just want to be somewhat normal again. I also have celiac sprue. Suggestions those of you who have more knowledge than I or any specialists who may be on this site? I also joined a Hashimoto group on Facebook but it didn't mention specific nutrition other than Mediterannean Diet. >
