Thank you so much Dr Gupta Sir and everyone.

Eid Mubarak to all of you

Regarding* Eid-al -Fitr*, Kishore I am glad you asked this question. As

Aaswari explained Eid means celebration. You may have heard the phrase " Aaj

to meri Eid ho gayi " when one is very happy due to something. As Aaswari

explained this is Eid of breaking the fast. We celebrate this because God

has provided us with cloths, food, etc etc.

*Eid-e-Milad* : Milad means birth. Eid-e-Milad is short form of

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi meaning Celebration of birth of Prophet (PBUH).

Regarding charity: Zakat (one of the pillars of Islam) means obligatory

charity. These are Zakat-ul-Maal and Zakat-ul-Fitra.

*Zakat-ul-Maal* (commonly referred as Zakat only) is 2.5% of whatever

" maal " one has for one year in bank, " Tijori " , in the form of jwellery,

land, house etc in total. There are rules for that too, e.g. if house is on

rent or just lying vacant, if jwellerey is for daily wear and being used by

lady or is it extra one kept as wealth etc etc. This is to be paid once in

a year, anytime. But because the calculation has to be done on Maal that

has been kept for one year, so it has to be same month and day every year.

People find it easy to remember and pay every Ramadan. It has to be given

to poor person and that poor preson can be anybody, There are rules as to

who can get and who can not, e.g. husband may by very poor but wife can not

pay Zakaat to him :)

*Zakat-ul-Fitr* is commonly referred as Fitra. This is obligatory on

everyone (each member of the family) to be given any poor person. This is

to be given any time before Eid prayer during the month of Ramadan. The

purpose is that no one, poorest or the poor should go without breakfast on

Eid day.

Sorry, I could not shorten it :)
