Guest guest
L.J. Alleman Treated for Mold KATC - Lafayette,LA* http://www.katc.com/Global/story.asp?S=8218910 Another Acadiana school is treated for mold. KATC has learned, L.J. Alleman Middle School has been treated. We received an email from a concerned parent Wednesday, and contacted school officials. They say, parents were notified, but students were never in danger. Principal Kathy Aloisio suspected the school might have mold back in December and tests were ordered. Those results came back a month later, in January. Aloisio says, in two classrooms, mold levels were slightly elevated. Mold levels were higher inside than out. Workers fogged the school with chemicals during the weekends, when students and staff were not on campus. " We did have an issue at the beginning, but we got results yesterday, and they are way, way, low, " said Aloisio. Superintendent Burnell Lemoine says Aloisio followed proper procedure by notifying the maintenance department. However, he says, because parents were upset and felt left in the dark, he is going to draft new ways for notifying parents about problems with mold.
