After posting a few minutes ago about GABA I got up to stir my rice which I

bought from DHC (NFI). This DHC Germinated Brown Rice contains extra GABA. On

the back of the package it says: GABA is short for gamma-aminbutyric acid.

This amino acid works as a neurotransmitter (a chemical that aids communication

between nerve cells). GABA participates in easing anxiety and promoting

relaxation. Each serving contains approximately 7 mg of GABA as compared with

approximately 0.7 mg in polished white rice.

For my panic disorder I took way more GABA than this. I was getting it

from

http://www.immunesupport.com (NFI) and there is a better explanation there

about it. I sometimes had to take up to 6 of them but if you do try it for

panic start out super slow to see how it affects you. If I hvae to go out to a

toxic place I take an even more powerful one that I learned about. I can even

go into a corn riddled movie theater now to watch a movie. I am violently

allergic to corn odor which used to set off my asthma and do a number on my CNS.

But back to DHC, many of you could not get their catalog but if you do call

them please ask them to have some fragrance free products. They are mainly

makeup. I do use some of their makeup with no problem. I love their

honey/ginger combo (NFI).

I would have to disagree on the " diagnosis " of " panic attack " .

Most likey as the body is ridding itself via detox the circulating toxins

are affecting the CNS and causing the " problem " .

One would suspect that trying to mitigate the " panic attacks " would in fact

create a problem as it's not " mental " and a anti-anziety med will be more

problematic than effective.

More " assistance " with detox would help, bottled water, organic foods,

removal of possible more toxic exposures and if they can tolerate it...hot baths

with skin brushing and sweating.

What is GABA?I looked at the web site but didn't see it. The rice also

sounds interesting, where did you buy that? Sorry for all the questions but not

thinking clearly this AM.

That sounds really interesting. I wonder if it is organically grown? For people

with diabetic issues, mold or candida, though rice is not the best choice. Rice

can have alpha toxins which can cause sensitivities. Along with corn, rice is

also quite a high glycemic food and it is also not recommended for anyone with

candida issues. But I wonder if in the form of a supplement GABA would have the

same positive effect? I think I may have seen some kind of GABA supplements in

the local health store. Just nver knew anything about it.

Thanks,

Sam

Good point here! I had wondered why lately I feel sick and get a headache when

I eat rice. It seems like I have to give up more and more. If my memory is

working I started out on GABA from Immune Support in Santa Barbara. They donate

part of their proceeds to CFIDS research, another one of my diagnosis or is that

diagnoses???? DUH

NFI but I think its

They have lots of descriptions on vitamins etc.

what you need to cut from your diet is any grains that have a problem

with mold and mycotoxin growth. the ones that have the same type

of ,olds and myco's that you were exposed to are the ones that well

bother you the most. you also have to watch out for fruits and

veggies because when they start getting ripe they start getting

moldy.breads,ect. all things you eat need to be as fresh as

possable.eat fruit before it gets ripe, ect.

PS, GABA plays a big role in alcholic disease. do a search

on " beer, mycotoxins " . yes, when your exposed to toxic molds, your not

just breathing it your also engesting it, it contaminates everything,

hoq can you not be eating it to. it also runs down to your stomach

with the mucus from sinus drainage.

To get rid of mold on fruits and vegies you can soak it in a water with a few

drops of lugol's iodine. You could also try spraying hydrogren peroxide on

fruits and vegies that have an outer covering like an avocado or hard surface

like peppers. It will also get rid of parasites and other nasty things.

Dr Marinkovich recommended cooking with vit c (ascorbic acid version)

or soaking with ascorbic acid. If you soak in vit c, pour off liquid

as it can affect taste alot. If you cook with some, be careful to not

add to much for same reason but a little left is good for you. He said

vit c detoxes.
