Royal Pain

When Prince Harry put all he had on the table in Las Vegas, he never

imagined that he would be exposed. You might argue that it was he who

exposed, but that is mere quibbling.

The fact remains that his poolside grab did grab all the headlines splashed:

" Harry got her " Though there are some allegations of drugs, in which case

" Harry Pot-ter " would have been more apt. Some people were asking, " Have you

seen the Harry photos? " And others were replying, " No! I prefer clean shaven

ones! " Now we know what coming to a 'hairy' end means.

But probably Harry was not to be blamed. He was so in the habit of getting

Royal phones ordering him to drop everything and come immediately, that he

did precisely that. I can well imagine the Royal dressing down that he must

have got for .. well. dressing down!

" But Dad, you had told me to show some cheek! "

" Yes! But I did not use the plural! And some things are better kept

private. "

" Oh! Even you hold exhibitions of your crown jewels. And I am offered more

to exhibit my crown jewels than you! "

Now rightfully, Harry can claim that he hides nothing from his public. He

may be stripped off his pilot duties instead of just being stripped. Be that

as it may, can we call this the first crack in the Royal façade?

Meanwhile, this episode has 'bare'ly been over when everyone has started

cashing in. The Casino where the cavorting occurred, is promoting a game of

Strip Poker called " The Royal Flush " . The strippers are busy selling their

videos and getting paid more than the actual strip. They claim to know Harry

in and out.

So while the Royal are screaming " Harry Home Harry! " and the Indian purists

are shouting " Hari Om Hari! " , I say, let the poor chap be. Instead of

telling Rapunzel, it is the Prince who is letting down his hair. If he

wants to take a public 'stand', then more strength to him. 'Keep it up',

Harry!
