Guest guest
Yes as good maybe more powerful. They both are great with immune system.  Still deal with OA issues and take a lot of other " stuff " to manage it all.  The Pycnogenol got rid of my allergies/sinus/sinus headaches in a little under a month back in late 1995, took it for a whole yr and then was led to Grape Seed Ex and was told just as good but less pricey...swansons pycnogenol is pretty low priced, but I lean to GSE now for a long time. ________________________________ To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Saturday, May 26, 2012 4:21 PM Subject: Pycnogenol / Re: Powereful Antioxidant/Re: Baking Soda and PH  When it first came out it was predominantly the v expensive Maritime Pine - do you think grapeseed is as good? Jane I would give this more thought too. Almost 17 yrs ago I was at a health lecture for Pycnogenol, it had just come into the U. S. from France....we were being told it " MAY " prevent cancer... So I got on it immediately and have taken either Pycnogenol or Grape Seed Extract daily...almost 17 yrs soon. Now, I'm reading more research hospitals are using Grape Seed in their cancer research...city of hope, mayo, maryland medical and more I'm sure.... I take primarily Grape Seed Extract NOW....it's a blood thinner so if you take a blood thinning drug, caution. There is a ton of info out there on Pycnogenol and Grape Seed Extract, so do your research. First thing I got rid of was allergies, sinus issues and headaches.... Google a health issue and Grape Seed Extract and you are guaranteed something will come up. Most health issues anyway.....
Guest guest
On another topic..I make up my own Grape Seed Moisture Cream. I've bought Pycnogenol wrinkle cream for many years, but prices keep going up and so I thought, why not make up my own.  So to a jar of s 84%Aloe Vera I add 1-2 capsules of grape seed extract, stir and have a great GSE jar of anti-aging moisture cream. ________________________________ To: " DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO " <DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO > Sent: Saturday, May 26, 2012 4:27 PM Subject: Re: Pycnogenol / Re: Powereful Antioxidant/Re: Baking Soda and PH  Yes as good maybe more powerful. Guest guest
I have an old ankle injury which was really starting to ache and keeping me awake - took a couple of spoons of raisins soaked in gin yesterday and minimal pain over night - I also took another herbal mix soaked in gin (I don;t normally drink alcohol at all) one dessert spoon and I think this helped too - the herbal mix was from Fred Mothershed in AL. Sometimes you don't know what helps what until you stop!! Guest guest
I was told " golden " raisins & 15 a day - I just bought organic - I just take a spoonful - I am amazed it helped so much I was getting pretty miserable! I don't leave them in the fridge but I do need to add more raisins!! Guest guest
Jane - raisins are mostly from white/green grapes. They only look dark after drying. I found only one supplier of red/blue dried grapes in Germany. Red grapes contain more e.g. resveratrol. Zante currants are from red grapes but I don't know their components. They are mostly kernel-less - I don't like this. Grapes/raisins are toxic for dogs. Guest guest
If a person has a dehydrator it's very simple to make your own raisins. Of course, grapes here have been pretty expensive for the last couple years. Where we use to buy them for 69 cents a pound they've been at $1.50 a pound. One year they had a drought that decimated the grape crops so they shot the price up to that 1.50. although they've had good years since then they've apparently decided that people are willing to pay that high price and have just left it high. I did find a lot of nice red seedless grapes for a dollar a pound and bought about 5 pounds worth. Plucked them off the stems, put them in the dryer and in a couple days--raisins! Taste better than any commercial raisins I've ever had. If you buy seed filled grapes you have to remove the seeds before drying, and that's just too much work, though I know grapes with seeds are healthier for you. Samala, -----Original Message----- raisins are mostly from white/green grapes. They only look dark after drying.
Guest guest
Thanks - this is for the old raisins soaked in gin remedy! Not for the pycnogenol. Guest guest
Joyce, Do you think that grape seed extract could help my 9 year old daughter, who has terrible allergies. Is this supplement okay to use with children? Guest guest
yes I use golden organic, but never felt any real shift with the 9 per day, maybe I'll take more and before bed...I wake up so STIFF every morning, getting worse with age and since hip replacement.  joyce  ________________________________ To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Saturday, May 26, 2012 7:47 PM Subject: Re: Pycnogenol / Re: Powereful Antioxidant/Re: Baking Soda and PH  I was told " golden " raisins & 15 a day - I just bought organic - I just take a spoonful - I am amazed it helped so much I was getting pretty miserable! Guest guest
I know that one thing which has helped me for the past two years is Quercitin-Bromelain. I take QBC which has Vit C added to it, two capsules with each meal during allergy season which for me is 6 weeks in springtime. Any day that I omit this, I am soon reminded. I am talking about seasonal pollen allergy here, and not any other type. Often the root cause of 'food allergies' can be excessive yeast in the body and in particular the GI tract.
